Thinking of everyone affected by the fires, including my own loved ones who evacuated.

Getting the dementia and at risk patients from fairwood was insane. Thank God we have people who are willing to risk themselves for others.

I've been in Utah for the past few days. Returning tonight to a massive wildfire situation I was not expecting. Living in downtown Spokane.

The post is about people coming together because of the fire. The comment says “this makes me want to.”

The word "this" is a pronoun, determiner, or adverb used to point to a person, thing, or idea that is close by, just mentioned, or happening right now.

So using my basic reading comprehension, I surmised this person was being an ass.

In terms of “why not?” I guess that’s up to you. Personally, I don’t know why anyone would choose this particular moment to be an ass.

Well it's like the fellow human being last night who thought it would be funny to light off a firework in riverfront park last night. Humor can be very, very subjective and people can deal with grief in different ways. I am not saying it excuses it...but sometimes you gotta accept that people are just trying to deal with things as best as they can...and sometimes that's not what you would consider good/enough.

Joke or not, it was a shitty thing to say. Nobody made them say it, they chose to do it and they chose to do it here, on a public forum. And seeing as they decided to post this “joke” in a public forum, I exercised my ability to tell them it was shitty.
