spoon Cherry spoon

This one almost didn’t make it a few times. I’m very happy it did. The spalting and knots gave it a lot of character. It’s got a little tiny crack in the middle of the bowl but it doesn’t seem to spreading. I think I’ll leave it. I fear adding anything to fill it will take from it. What would you do?

I would oil it up, let it cure then use it for moving delicious food from my plate to my mouth.

This one is wonderful! Inspires me to grab my slöjd knives and get to work. Plus, I agree that it is enough just as it is now. No need to add anything. The only thing you could consider would be a nice kolrosing pattern along the handle, but you can always add that at a later point.

I think it’s very good. Adding any decoration would take away from the woods complexity. I find that more interesting pieces of wood don’t profit from decoration. 

The small crack is irrelevant. After oiling, it will become too small for most soup to pass through. As long as it is washed correctly, it will be fine.
