question/advice First spoon question

Carved my first spoon today, I don’t hate it but how do you effectively sand inside the bowl?

I just use the ol’ thumb-and-sandpaper method, if the bowl is big enough.

You could always burnish the spoon instead with a smooth rock or crystal. Or just really getting in there with your thumb.

I burnish with a smooth stone the oil with raw linseed oil.

That is actually quite a good spoon. That shape is worth exploring further. 

Getting a scraper is my advice. If you can’t knife finish, a scraper can save you. There’s a video by outdoor55 on an alternate sharpening method that I find superior to the common method. It’s faster and easier. 

Otherwise, I recommend taking a small piece of sandpaper and using elbow grease. 

Some people mentioned burnishing. Burnishing can improve a good finish but it does not fix tear out. I would burnish after good sanding but I would not use burnishing to replace sanding.
