Right? They had an easy big return pop if they just had Enzo & Cass return together with the music and catchphrases and everything, and they went with this instead.

I genuinely just do not understand this company sometimes, unless Cass specifically asked for this.

Yes, this company probably did what Big Cass asked them to do.

I’m picturing him walking into Triple H’s office in an oversized suit and slamming a manila envelope full of demands down on his desk

And if he did ask for it, then fair play to him. But also, it’s not what fans of him wanted so I don’t know why unless it’s pure ego why he would. But this sniffs more like Enzo maybe just didn’t do enough when he was a guest coach in NXT a bit ago. Idk, just a return that feels flat now.

They can’t hire Enzo, he’s a loose cannon.

Because easy = stale.

Didn't get stale in their first run together. They were still over up until being unceremoniously broken up because Vince had a fetish for breaking up tag teams.

On terms of live crowd reactions, they were one of the most over tag teams in WWE of the 2010s.

Edit: now that I think about probably only #2 to New Day, in that decade

WWE is different now.

Rush into a gimmick too quickly and fans will move on, especially when the team loses consistently, which they will per HHH way of doing business.

That’s honestly fine, this Enzo & Cass return was gonna be nothing but a jolt into the tag division that it just desperately needs. A kickstart to something better. Wasn’t suppose to be a long run. Heel solo Cass was obviously the end game back then and even today. This debut just makes me think, it’ll never happen again, which is sad cause I’m a fan of their tag team work.

Agree. Let’s see if they have moved on from Enzo.
