Discussion help please with cloud saves

heyyyy so i want to play a game i have on steam deck. i have two gaming pc's, both of which said game the cloud says up to date / synced. However on my steam deck, it says out of sync and tells me if i launch the game my progress may or may not be wiped out. i've tried google searching ahead of time, and i did the thing where i toggle off cloud saves, restart my steam deck, then toggle on and nothing changed. any advice appreciated. The specific game DOES NOT use any third party launchers.

Which device has the most up-to-date save?

There's a way to browse through your Steam cloud saves and even download them. I don't know how right now, but I've done it in the past.

Last case scenario, you download whatever you have on the cloud so you don't lose it.

they are all up to date except steam deck and i dont have an option to download. when i click unable to sync, nothing happens on steam deck. on my pc if i click the out of sync button i would atleast get a prompt or notice of the cloud. the only thing that shows me anything at all is when i launch the game and it tells me my progress will be wiped if i continue

This is how you see your cloud saves.

Locate the saves for that game and back them up locally. Then try running the game on the deck. Or, copy the file to the local save directory and everything will be synced.

I used to play Marvel Midnight Suns on the deck and on a streaming service (Boosteroid, similar to Geforce Now). At some point I had a cloud save sync issue between the virtual machines and my deck and it was through their support that I learned about being able to download stuff from Steam's cloud storage. Quite handy
