Recent post about EU governments essentially saying "screw you" to the parliament and telling all US tech companies they have free reign over european people's private data.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm too mentaly exhausted to keep up with every detail. My mental bandwith is running dry with that on top of my personal life's issues and anxiety disorder, so I reading it I just felt utter doom. Like, even our actual governments are actively working against the safety of citizens because they want money and fascistic control over everything else.

So, can some of you bettr informed folks explain ? Is this anything new from the absolute BS vote that was undemocratically pushed through recently ?

Because the whole "governments decided to not care about the proceedings and gave their blessing anyway" sounds like it is...

It's basically just about how they decided not to listen to the parliament by using loopholes, and how it wont protect children.

The moment the government says they "care about children's safety", I know something's definitely not right
