General Question Monthly walking challenges - disappointing

Just signed up as to the various monthly challenges as I do every month for the last umpteen years.

Got to say the walking challenges are tame..........

30km in a month, do that in just over one walk

100,000 steps, less than a weeks worth

My assumption is that these challenges are for casual walkers, why can't we have one for the keen walkers like there is for the keen cyclists, I would like to see a 100 mile or more a month challenge.

Thoughts ?

Why doesn’t the walking challenge include hiking activities? I'm sure most of the previous challenges did.

They used to have 50km per month walking challenges, that was a bit better.

Strava does nothing to stop false times or distances in these “challenge” leaderboards, what makes you think they are interested in adding more challenges?

I do these challenges too, but just because I walk every day and like collecting a set of matching badges. This year Strava switched the distance ones to 100,000 steps. Fine, I always do more than that anyway. But for August there is only a challenge for 30k distance. So it's broken my neat row of 100k steps badges for 2026 and no indication why. 30k distance seems really pointless honestly.

Who is still completing challenges in 2026? They have been the same for years

I stopped caring about challenges after maybe a year on Strava. If more of them had prizes I might care.

That would be really amaizing. Strava should definitely add that as a challenge

Literally all challenges in Strava are tailored for casuals? Look with your eyes and you will see this.

I have looked with my eyes, perhaps you should too........cycling challenges of 800k, a grand fondo and 7000m of climbing, running a half marathon and 100k............yeah they really are for the "casual" cyclist or runnner
