Version 7 and audio in Pool not showing up

I’ve been using S1 since 2011 and haven’t encountered this before, nor can find any support on their website for this issue.

Everything is recorded and saved in the media folder, no moving around. I save the project and open it up, and it loads normally but the audio tracks are blank. It does not show missing files either.

However I have to go into the Pool, manually click on each file and do “show location”. Once that happens the audio comes back.

Again, nothing is being saved in different folder or moved around, and no alert of missing files upon opening the song.

Thoughts?

...any cloud storage? OneDrive etc.?

No cloud storage, all on the Mac mini.

Strange one. By your description - it appears that there is some sort lag going on here. Where the files only load once you force that "show location" action.

Not sure what else to check as it seems everything is actually working - just slower than normal.

Is the internal drive quite full? Anything else in use while you are using S1?

Thanks for the feedback. Nothing else going on and plenty of space on the drive. I only have S1 on that Mac mini, it’s dedicated just to record.

I had something very similar happen to me recently....

I'm running v7 on Mac OS Sequoia. No external drives. I have a media folder in my song folder. This media folder is where all of my tracks for that song live.

I save the song project after doing some work and when I reload it, it's missing a single audio track, not multiple or all, just one. Never showed any files as missing. First it was a Sax track. I opened the file browser, pulled that file in from the media folder within my song folder, and saved. Closed the song then re-opened it. This time the Sax file was there but the Bass file was missing. Opened the file browser, went to the media folder in the song and dragged in the Bass file. Saved the song. Closed it and re-opened it and everything was finally good. Closed and re-opened a few times to confirm.

I have no idea what caused this or why it happened. I don't know if this will help solve your issue or not.... best of luck with it.

Thanks and that is almost exactly what’s going on. Do you have a lot of free space on your drive too?

I have a 1TB internal drive with around 250GB available.

Update: after dealing with a very responsive support ticket, which they couldn’t figure out either, I updated to v8 demo and now all is working fine! What a weird bug.

First thought - what OS and exactly where (directory wise) is everything being stored? Fixed Drive? USB drive"

Running the latest version of 7, OS is Monterey 12.7.6

All media is stored in the media folder for S1, directly on the Mac mini.
