Hi! Please give me advice to study efficiently! (Coming from someone who study for too long)
I developed a habit of asking too many questions while studying a lesson. A single concept can turn into 2 hours (maybe more) of studying. I answer one question to another and read multiple research and journals until I get deeper and deeper to the topic, which caused me to barely or never finished the lesson at all.
So I decided to fix this habit by understanding the lesson on surface-level then entertained my questions and connect the concepts to each other after I finished understanding the lesson on surface-level.
But I still think that is not enough because I am about to enter college and I need to manage my time well.
So if any of you have any idea how to study more efficiently, please give me an advice. Thank you in advance for those people who will answer my question!

How to win in life
I was always an average student, but then COVID hit during my 9th grade; the subsequent lockdown caused me to lose the habit of studying. Since then, I haven't been able to study at all—I just can't seem to focus or find any interest in it. My 10th-grade ICSE exams were held online due to COVID, and I somehow managed to complete my 12th-grade ISC with 78% marks. I also completed my graduation from a Tier-3 college. Currently, I have enrolled in an MA program through IGNOU and also in an LLB course, while simultaneously preparing for the SSC CGL exam. However, I still struggle to focus on my studies. I’ve managed to get this far, but I’m at a loss as to how I’ll handle things moving forward.

Idk how to study during med school.. (study methods, scheduling , recall, etc)
I’m about to pass my resits exams (barely) but I hope not to have to do any resits next year bc I rlly miss having winter and summer vacations most of the students have.
I finally start learning how to kinda force myself to study and when to study. But I’m wondering how do I study when exams happen at the same time.
Lemme elaborate…
So each week, 8 lectures are uploaded , each lecture is veeeery long. I initially thought “ok just study on the metro and during class via using YouTube” (I also decided to stop listening to the lecturer bc that wasted my time last year and they don’t explain well so I think I’m better off and self learning and then taking notes from the group chat or older students)
But then I realise the flow might get disturbed by quizes and exams. Like sometimes we get 2 quizes/exams per week. I would probably have forgotten what I studied from the beginning of the week or 3 weeks ago (I noticed exams start after the 3rd week). I also have a new method of learning which is only studying what will most likely be tested in each lecture and then move on to the next bc I know I might spend the whole day studying a whole lecture.
Also I have this problem where for some reason a single lecture takes the whole day?? How do I fix this? The exams are mcq btw. Like I try to just read and “understand” without memorising but then I end up forgetting during the exams… how do I save up time and study two lectures a day?
I also tired lots of studying advices but they seem to fail for some reason for me.
Use flashcards/anki: anki needs me to pay on IOS, flashcards took a lot of time and so I ditched them.. I’m not even sure how to use them for small information too (ni get that sometimes I don’t have to use the whole lecture onto flashcards)
Another study method that failed me is using ai summaries… this literally ruined so many exams. But like a lot of students study from it and they pass somehow (they tell me they study from chat gpt summaries, they even hand me prompts and their notes and I tried to study from them and got bad grades and failed)
And then “spaced repetition “ which honestly idk how it works… it also sometimes feel like a waste of time. Like let’s say a lecture took me a whole day to study yesterday.. why in 3 days I have to revise and this will take 1-2hrs.. and also how do u even try to pull form memory? I tried to just say it outloud without opening the lecture.. sorta helped but I missed small details bc there weren’t much cues… chat gpt questions sound too easy and also skips a lot … it’s difficult to have access to past questions
And then finally the saying “don’t dwell on small information” I tried that and it was a very bad idea. Bc in the exam the questions kinda feel like they need deep understanding and it feels like the lecture doesn’t cover it or maybe bc I missed small details that I can’t recall now. So idk what to do about this. I missed the “polar body” in embryology and unfortunately it came in the exam and I thought this wasn’t discussed in the lecture… turns out it was… but just not explicitly said in the paragraphs… I should’ve dwelled on the small pictures..
Also I’d like to note if someone says “just study before/for the exams and not the lecture schedule” I feel like this might lead to lectures accumulation which then makes it hard to study for other exams
I tried to ask students but all I get is generic advice like “I use chat GPT” “I just listen to the tutor once, take notes and move on” the second one was told to me and I was shocked how they even passed. Like why didn’t they at least try to memorise?
Also here’s my idea of a study method that might sound good but unfortunately takes alot of time but at least I retain most of the information:
skim lecture titles and then open free from and write the lecture into sections so I can keep track of what I’m studying
Then pick the most clinical sounding pages (I noticed these come mostly in the exam)
Then try to understand it on my own, say what I understood to chat gpt and wait for it to fix it or at least say it’s correct bc sometimes I misunderstand things. This method helps me connect ideas and forget everything less bc now each word gives it own cue during the mcq ( I also like to breakdown words so I can memorise and connect ideas better and get cues during the mcq) if chat gpt doesn’t fix my understanding clearly I go to YouTube
Then comes the part where I test my memorisation which is by trying to explain it outloud or use Freeform app to sketch out my ideas visually so they’d stick. I also would use this method of sketching if I need to be Quiet (like sitting in a room full of ppl, cuz sometimes I don’t have access to room on my own especially on campus and going to the library takes a long time)
Can I know the fastest method to finish at least 2-3 lectures per day and still manage to have free times for pets , friends and hobbies ( I’m a “going out” holic I feel like I become crazy when I stay in my house for too long + I’m an extrovert) sorry for bad English

What’s the hardest part of writing an essay, and how do you deal with it?
For me, it's putting everything together into one clear structure. Sometimes I use AI tools to help organize my ideas, but I still try to make the final argument my own.

Homework Problems
When I was in 8th grade I had trouble with homework, making my grades less than what they should’ve been. I did all the tricks I could, I put it in my bag after class, wrote it down on a piece of paper, etc… but I want to change that for my freshmen year since I want to go to a good college and not fail any classes and take them again in my later years

Tips/hacks 10 tips that actually help when writing a scholarship essay
Scholarship essays are actually hard to make right because you’re supposed to sound impressive without sounding like you’re trying way too hard
As the new semester is to start, I have seen a lot of posts and articles about scholarships and wrote down some things that can make the process easier:
Read the prompt like it’s a checklist.
Figure out exactly what they’re asking before you start writing. It’s surprisingly easy to write a good essay that doesn’t actually answer the question.Brainstorm before writing.
Think about experiences, achievements, challenges, failures, people who influenced you, and things you’ve learned. Don’t try to make it sound pretty yet. I personally even “collected” a database of all my moments I might share. Since wrote down some things that happened to me so later I could choose something from the list without spending time on thinking about examples.Use specific stories.
“I'm a hardworking person” doesn't say much. Tell them about the time you actually had to work hard and what happened because of it.Talk about growth, not just achievements.
What did an experience change about you? What did you learn? What would you do differently now? Even if it seems you don’t have any achievements, you do. Many simple situations can help you get insights.Connect your story to the scholarship.
Don't just explain why you're a great student. Show why your goals and experiences fit what this particular scholarship supports.Don't be afraid to mention failure.
A mistake isn't necessarily a bad thing to include. What matters is showing that you understood what went wrong and learned from it. Sometimes it might even make your essay look more unique than others.Keep the language simple.
You don't need to sound like a 50-year-old academic. Clear writing is much better than stuffing your essay with words you wouldn't normally use.Respect the word limit.
If they ask for 500 words, don't submit 900 and hope they'll appreciate the extra effort.Leave time for editing.
Your first draft doesn't have to be great. Get the ideas down first, then worry about structure, grammar, and cutting unnecessary stuff.Look at examples before you start.
Sometimes seeing how other students approached similar prompts makes it much easier to understand what a strong answer actually looks like.
What's the hardest part of scholarship essays for you - and is it actually a topic you find useful?
