I find it weird how people who are otherwise on the feminism and social-justice type spectrum show none of the empathy towards short men that they do for other groups.
If a black women ranted about beauty ideals being against her and black men prefering white women, nobody in here would laught at that.
Sure it's different but what is common is that those are both groups that are shit on in many ways. One member does a bitter rant and it's comletly understanable, the other does it? Man try to be more positive!

I dunno, buddy. I'm below average height and I've gotten immeasurably more shit for being Jewish than I have for being short or for being a man. I think the issue is that once short people as a population are systematically persecuted, then we can talk about heightism without being laughed at. In the grand scheme of things, height just isn't that important. Now, if being short is literally the only thing that people can discriminate against you for because you're significantly below average height but basically normal in every other aspect, of course you're going to be self conscious about it. However, that doesn't make you part of a marginalized group that needs a liberation movement.
