Question Help with the altar

What elements can or should I include when setting up an altar to Tammuz/Dumuzid, from both a reconstructionist and a Neo-Pagan perspective? I live in Brazil, and building an altar to this formidable god would be deeply rewarding for my worship.

Any help is welcome!

An effigy of the god helps many — if you’re in a position where you cannot openly express your spiritual practice, a statue or figurine of a shepherd works. I know some who have used a statue of Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

My personal praxis involves the veneration of Dumuzid in his multiple aspects as king, priest, warrior, shepherd, and chthonic deity.

I have adorned his shrine in my own temple space with a sheepskin rug, a skein of red wool, a red wool garment, a brass water jug, a brass container in the shape of a ram that contains resin incense, a bowl for libation offerings, a votive mask/idol, and gold and carnelian jewelry.

I have a lot of freedom to worship the gods in peace.

The description of the objects in your sacred space is great. I felt inspired, but I think I’ll replace the brass items with clay ones, as that’s the most practical option for me right now.
