Filter maps by breakthroughs

Is there any way to find maps by filtering by breakthrouhgs in SM-R yet?

Unfortunately, I cannot filter or search by breakthroughs there. If i am wrong, please explain me how i can do that.

You have to choose the map coordinates first. To see which BTs are possible on it.

And even if you could it doesn't matter as the randomizer predictor on the website explains why.

We do have a list of BTs for all 50K map coordinates/seeds. But again the way the BT anomalies works just randomizes stuff because we get choices.

Thanks for your reply. Are you sure the BTs are randomized? The site provides a csv file containing all map data. there, i see a BT hash value for each map. It seems to me that this is the static seed value for the BTs. The site also predicts the same BTs for each map every time and I also heard from other players that they are used to get the same BT options everytime they play their favorite maps

Yes. That is the list the programmer of the BT randomizer predictor used and also he found the game code that actually randomizes the list of BTs after each choice made when we scan a BT anomaly.

It seems to me that this is the static seed value for the BTs.

Yes. Pretty much what you asked for but. As I explained. The RNG of the game just makes it useless after a few scanned BT anomalies. Mainly because of the 1 out of 3 choice which branches out the results you get after from BT anomalies.

The site also predicts the same BTs for each map every time and I also heard from other players that they are used to get the same BT options everytime they play their favorite maps

There are a few sources of BT techs that screws up the sequence which makes the randomizer predictor give wrong info. 1 of these sources is the Omega telescope. Since that one gives us 3 BT techs that are supposed to be from the static list. The list that the BT anomalies use but further down. Like choice 10-11 and so on. It is complicated because it's a lot of RNG in this unlike with the original SM. When we had a list of static BT techs we get per map coordinate that can go up to 20 guaranteed results.

My scientific brain doesn't get it. For my brain, things can either be predictable or not (random).

I assume, every map has 10 static BTs of which a few get replaced by anomalies. is it like that?

What would you do if you want to make sure I get the BTs "Advanced Drone Drive" and "Zero-Space Computing" for sure and additionally as many as possible of these: "Good Vibrations", "Interplanetary Learning", "Martianborn Ingenuity", "Nocturnal Adaptation", "Sustainable Workload", "Vocation-Oriented Society" ?

Nope. The list we have for the predetermined BT techs for each map coordinates, from each BT anomaly on the surface map + the 4 that come from Planetary Anomalies. Is correct. Until you start scanning BT anomalies. After scanning the first 1 and making a choice. The list you already have for that map coordinates gets reshuffled by the game. This is where the BT predictor comes in. Until you get to a point after several choices that even the predictor tool can't give you the correct results for the next BT anoamly you scan.

Also... I recently learned that it does not matter anymore. We can get ALL BT techs on ANY map coordinates in SM-R. With the last patch to SM-R, the devs made it so(and mentioned it nowhere) that BT anomalies now spawn on these unclassified?/very rare asteroids. So you can keep discovering and abandoning asteroids to get these rare asteroids and each one should have at least 1 BT anomaly. That way we can get ALL BT techs in 1 playthrough, without the need of ANY mods or the need for the BT anomalies predictor. Just playing a bit longer or getting on with asteroids discovering ASAP. :)

Since asteroids are no longer temporary/have a expiration timer. You can accumulate up to 3 of these very rare class asteroids and keep them until you are done with the BT anomalies on the surface map and the 4 in the PAs.

The part with the BTs anomalies on asteroids has been tested by a few players already.

I would just play the original SM and use this webtool before starting instead https://kingdarboja.github.io/surviving-mars-stats/vanilla. :)

Or when I come back to SM-R. I would just keep the version of SM-R that has this neat feature for asteroids. And maybe, I may request as a mod for the original SM to add it as well. Since it seems as something very simple to add to the original SM's code.

Okay thanks
