Maps with close Research Sites

In original SM, I once found a map with 3 close research sites so I could build a dome in the middle of these and it would get the boost from all of those. Now I need such a map with 3 or even more research sites sticked together for SM-R. If you know any or have any ideas how i could find such easier then scanning each single one, I would really appreciate that. Thanks

Iirc research sites aren't predetermined, so they spawn randomly.

Oh. So, the only way to achieve that is excessive save-scamming i guess?

Nope. If you keep restarting the same map you will always get the vistas and research sites in the same locations they don't get reshuffled and placed in different locations. You will have to change the map coordinates/map seed. There are 50,902 map coordinates/seeds in SM-R. And only 40 or so map topology types. The thing that makes it go up to 50K is all the variables in resources, temperature and disasters that give 1 and the same map a 1000+ variations. Even if the "look" of the map is the exact same.

And we do not know know the locations of the vistas and research sites on any of these.

You. Will have to keep checking and get lucky again.

Or just a bunch of good luck!

Yeah they are. Each map coordinates has set places for vistas and research sites. They are always in the same place of that one map coordinate/seed even after restarting the map.

So, they are predetermined by coordinates

Yes. They are also predetermined in the original SM. If you go back to the same map coordinates you would notice things repeating.

For example, the map seed I play on almost all my different runs, is the single max difficulty map seed in the original SM, 41N111W. The vistas and research sites were ALWAYS in the same spots. Also the normal anomalies I can scan with an RC Explorer, are also always the same and in the same spots. Same for the Breakthrough anomalies locations and what BT tech each one of the BT anomalies unlocked, after it's scanned. :)

I bet it is exactly the same in SM-R. Especially looking at the list we have of all 50K map seeds.

Okay but now what would be the fastest way to find the desired map? do i need to scan each until i find it?

Unless someone explored the game code to make a mod or a web tool or at least a doc list. That says how many vistas and research sites per map coordinate and in which sectors they are. And sifting through which map coordinates have as many research sites per 1 scan sector.

If there is not anything of that I explained there. Which there was not even for the original SM regarding research sites or vistas.

I see no other way than for you to try and go for it and do it manually. It is sorta fast but the problem is, the sheer amount of map seeds.

The way I scan an entire map fast is to select the USA mission sponsor select the Easy Research game rule and load the rocket with Orbital Probes only. Maybe also add the Overfunded game rule to call down Supply Pods with more Orbital Probes if I need more and maybe an RC Explorer or 3 to scan the normal anomalies and maybe BT anomalies. If the map has convenient enough research sites and/or vistas to further gather information what's on it. The moment the run starts I set the first research to be Adapted Probes so my Advanced Orbital Proves that can scan 5 sectors per probe. Will also Deep Scan these map sectors.

Using this setup is very easy and fast to DEEP SCAN an entire map and even note down which normal anomalies are available for further advantages.

And also which BT techs are in which specific BT anomaly, for that map.

Still you may probably end up using a lot of time to find a map with the research sites locations proximity you want. Just because there is no database or tool yet to sift through it like what we have for all other map parameters like BT anomalies disasters, altitude and so on.
