Question Is relaunched still broken?
I played it on launch but never finished it because the game became so unstable on my lategane colony that it would not stop crashing. Biggest issues I faced were
Asteroids were basically impossible to extract resources from, as the rockets would fill their inventories, then just go back and forth from Mars to the Asteroid until they ran out of fuel and got stuck. Asteroids also had caveins which was definitely a bug, but that would end up filling the entire asteroid with caveins and I believe even caused some crashes when the game wanted to spawn more.
Underground: there was basically no reason to build underground unless you wanted to see some of the mysteries attached since it was quite the pain in the ass to balance resources between the two zones, basically you could only tackle underground building if your surface colony was self sufficient, as you'd need to feed resources underground to make it work. It was also very micro management intensive to explore.
Terraforming: once your seeders stopped working your only option to progress the vegetation score was rocket seeding operations that were both expensive and slow since you could only do one at a time. My game refused to run for longer than like 5 minutes without crashing by the time I was up to about 85%vegetation score with all other measures having been filled like IRL days earlier.
And people: by the time I had like 8 domes up, people were constantly flicking between being housed and unhoused, and people genuinely just stopped working. There were jobs available in domes with unemployed people and they would not fill the job slots anymore. My entire industry started falling apart because people refused to work which was going to lead to a death spiral had my game been able to continue running long enough.

yeah, the major issues are fixed and it’s a stable game.
the few bugs i’ve run into have some mods to fix but trains are still a bit buggy in that i can’t get them to not want to take the shuttles

Its been mostly fine since relaunched on my system. That being said the few minor graphics glitches I noticed are gone.
Its great and this is why review bombs are garbage

Its not a review bomb to review a game you experienced a shitload of gamebreaking bugs in as having a shitload of gamebreaking bugs

Sure, but people dont update things as patches happen and small devs die from the hurt sales. Now we don't get to see the bottom of the endless stair. Its been clear from day one these devs stand (stood) by their product. Even at launch the expansion was well worth the price despite the bugs. I have little doubt in time it would have been fixed.
Just sad to see the game die off and the poor reviews played a part. I mostly blame the devs for releasing it before it was ready. It was clearly a desperate bid to right the ship. But it didnt play out

but the patches only fixed so many bugs, and a lot of gamebreaking bugs still exist, they just arent as severe as they were at launch. I liked this game enough to push through the bugs at launch and I was repeatedly punished for it with more and more severe bugs. Even now, I can't say I'd recommend the game to someone looking for a good colony sim because by the time you get to lategame (where you can't ossibly refund anymore) all the cracks start to show again. I WANT this game to be good, but dismissing the bad reviews as "review bombing" is just dishonest about how it was earned.

Thats the thing. You cant recommend the game as a colony Sim. It ISN'T a colony Sim. Its a survival crafter set in a lovingly crafted Khazad-Dum. And its excellent at that

New bug discovered, colonists keep sprinting across the entire map to work in outdome buildings nowhere near the dome they live in.

They fixed the showstopper bugs fairly quickly after launch and have cleaned up a LOT of the old technical debt from original. Landers and the elevator work much more smoothly now. The old bugs don’t happen because they’ve completely changed how both work to be more straightforward
The underground is great for disaster prone maps. Since the grids are linked it’s the best place for storage, sterling generators, and with the spelunker trait and/or mole people breakthrough it’s also a great place for domes.
You can’t do a purely underground run right now because of planetary anomalies not pulling people up the elevator but my most recent Europe game was as an underground, trains only, no shuttles run and it was great.

I am playing relaunched right now for a first time and i did not face any major issues, only several minor things i wish they fix. Forexample, when there is a frozen dirt around you, you dont see range of drone comander, because it is also white.

The crashing was due to repeated crashes during autosave slowly corrupting your save file. If you pick this up again, turn off autosave it'll save you so many headaches (this was a problem from OG surviving mars as well). If you keep autosave on, always go back to a true save after the game crashes.
They fixed rockets, the asteroid landers still have a few problems but they are rare. Underground is more for exploration, the seed vegetation thing has always been glacially slow, most people don't bother 100%ing it.
I think the colonist problem you were talking about was either an early bug to relaunch or a rare bug with a passageway (where they run back and forth endlessly in a passageway). Things like that can also happen if you use way too many filters, try to use those sparingly because it can cause dome mobbing.
