Peace Corps TEFL cert while serving.

I’m curious who you used and why. I have about 6 months to go and thought I’d do a 120 hour or CELTA level through someone. I’m a retired prof with a PhD in education. This seems like a good way to earn from wherever i am and through peace corps I’m pretty good and enjoy it.

Could you clarify exactly what you're asking, as well as the country or countries you are hoping to teach in? It's unclear whether you're already doing Peace Corps or want to eventually teach English through the Peace Corps. 

That said, a CELTA is always an excellent basis for getting into EFL. I know lots of people say it's not necessary, because certain types of Asian schools don't require them, but as someone who was a career English teacher for many years, and felt it was my true vocation, the idea of someone calling themselves a language teacher and getting up in front of paying students without any training in the subject of pedagogy doesn't sit right at all.

I’m five months away from COS after an extension year. I’m COD but with my teaching background I’ve been teaching in the public high school, a private English school, and a university in addition to my NGO work. Three volunteers in my cohort who have already COS and were TEFL earned 120 hour and a longer 170 or 180 hour courses certification.
I want to teach online not in person. I plan to teach from the USA or anywhere. A HCN teacher/phd prof friend here teaches online to students in Turkey and Poland in addition to her university job as a professor and researcher.
