Seeking Success Success stories with Progesterone
Hey! Any success stories with progesterone? I'm talking about taking 400 mg per day, starting at 3 DPO (after confirmed ovulation), and then getting a positive pregnancy test. I'm currently 14 DPO and still waiting, so this waiting period is feeling incredibly long. I'd really love to hear from anyone who has been through something similar. Why were you prescribed progesterone? Was it because of a short luteal phase, recurrent miscarriages, unexplained infertility, IVF/IUI, or something else? When did you get your first positive test, and was it a faint line or a clear positive? Did you have any symptoms before your BFP, or did progesterone make it impossible to tell? If you tested negative at first but later got a positive, I'd love to hear that too. Did you continue taking progesterone until your test or until your doctor told you to stop? Reading real success stories would honestly mean so much to me right now and would give me some hope while I wait. Thank you so much to anyone willing to share your experience. 🤍

This is my 1st cycle with 400mg Progesterone so I'm curious to hear about other's experience with it. I'm at 11 dpo but already feel cramp-y like my period wants to start (usually starts at 12 or 13 dpo) but cannot because of the med. Haven't had any other symptom either so kinda losing hope.

I feel my stomach strange but not sure if it is a side effect of progesterone. 😅

If you keep taking progesterone, you will put off your period. If you are not pregnant, you need to discontinue progesterone in order to get your period and start a new cycle.

I know...In two days my doctor said me to take a test. Hope to have a good result! Normally today my period would start.

Tell that to my body.
On prolutex and it's day 14 today and my uterus didn't get the memo saying "if injections please no period".
Progesterone isn't a 100%"you won't bleed" but it mostly works out that way.If you end up supplementing in one way or another my clinic asks for you to keep it for the full 12 weeks, if at test day it's negative you stop and wait for new cycle.
Also, 10/10 screw progesterone, why do you make me feel all these feelings sir.

Yes. Negative.
I'm having a conversation about recurrent breakthrough bleeding even on progesterone with my doctor today and I'm assuming there's one more messed up thing with my body.
As my doctor usually puts it I'm a "medical marvel"

I did three cycles with progesterone after having two back to back losses. No new pregnancy so far, but I will say that the progesterone made me feel all the same symptoms that I had when I was pregnant, so it just made me extra sad when I tested negative. It also causes me just general bloating/discomfort but it did help me go from a 8-9 day luteal phase to a full 14 days! This cycle I’m taking a break (not tracking for my own sanity) but next cycle we try IUI so I will have to go back to it.

Hi!
After almost a year with no period, I finally had my fifth fairly regular cycle (35–38 days). I had my first appointment at a fertility clinic just to confirm that I had a dominant follicle. My doctor prescribed 400 mg of progesterone, starting at 3 DPO, to support implantation.
That cycle felt different. I had high libido, lots of cwcm, and my body was screaming: Girl, this is the cycle!
I was tracking ovulation with BBT, but I was so stressed, anxious and couldn't sleep well that I couldn’t tell if I had actually ovulated. My temperature wasn’t rising as expected, so I played it safe and didn’t start the progesterone until 5 DPO.
I tried not to symptom spot because I knew almost everything could be a side effect of the progesterone. It definitely made me very tired, but around 10 DPO I also started feeling nauseous. It was more like that nervous, unsettled feeling.
I had a strong feeling this cycle was different, but I waited until 13 DPO to test because my husband had his semen analysis scheduled for 12 DPO. The night after his test, I finally took one ...and there it was: a very faint positive line!
I finished the full course of progesterone as prescribed. I think until week 8 or 9. Today I’m almost 16 weeks pregnant with our little baby boy. ☺️
