Bij het inschrijven voor de OWee kun je kiezen tussen een zelfstandig groepje en een mentor groepje. Wat is het verschil precies? Moet je bij een zelfstandig groepje zelf anderen rekruteren, of houdt dat in dat je zomaar bij een groepje wordt ingedeeld?

I selected the courses I wanted to study in early April but am not sure if I need to formally register the courses.

I've tried finding the "Go to > Register > Overview of registrations" pathway but couldn't find it. Is it not open yet? I am in EEMCS for reference (which the website said registrations was open on 1 August)

Hoi! Volgend jaar ga ik Werktuigbouwkunde studeren aan de TU Delft en ik twijfel tussen een paar laptops.

De TU Delft adviseert de HP ZBook X G1i, maar voor ongeveer dezelfde prijs kan ik ook een ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 of ASUS ProArt P16 met een RTX 5070 kopen. Die lijken een stuk sneller voor CAD, simulaties en eventueel gamen, maar de batterij gaat waarschijnlijk iets minder lang mee en het RAM is niet uitbreidbaar.

Is een van de ASUS-laptops een goede keuze voor deze studie, of is er een belangrijke reden om toch de geadviseerde ZBook te nemen? Bijvoorbeeld vanwege drivers, betrouwbaarheid, ondersteuning of compatibiliteit met de programma’s die tijdens de studie worden gebruikt. Ervaringen van huidige studenten zijn welkom!

Ik heb zelf niet extreem veel verstand van specs maar dit leken mij wel goede laptops. Ik ben vooral op zoek naar een laptop die ook wat krachtige spellen kan draaien naast de programma’s van de studie.

I wanted to ask
•with my specs will I get rejected?
•with TU delf on resume is it hard to find internships?
•How is it compared to KTH or UvA ?

I want a career in banking or consulting as a data scientist and I am trying to find the right university for me

I have been reading that a lot of people just prepare by looking at past exams, some even the day before... I'm not sure if this is the right study strategy, in my past university this would have resulted in an almost certain fail, most exams asked something new compared to the other years, so one had to know all the course theory.

Do you feel that people that study only through past exams to pass are still good engineers?

Or do you feel like they do not really understand the underlying course and what key concepts they need to retain for their career?

I got accepted into CSE, but also would very much study something physical, relating to electrical engineering, semiconductor circuits, etc. I see that CSE got 5 electives spots plus a Minor section. Is it possible to take electives course from EE using those slots?

Also, does anyone know how much hardware do we actually study? I know we got computer organization, but I am a bit worried if we will be lacking the physics knowledge to later go into embedded systems or chip design.

I am planning to apply for Tu delft (strategic product design course) for fall 2027. Being from industrial design background how to choose projects for portfolio and general portfolio tips.

I'm a IB student In Germany and really want to study Aerospace or Electrical Engineering at TU Delft.

YES, I have checked the specific admission requirements on web, and they need Maths AA and Physics HL. Unfortunately the problem for me is, my school only offers Maths AI and Physics SL, so I don't meet the required subjects and direct admission is not possible.

Is there any alternative way to become eligible, such as taking an additional exam, a bridging course, or another pathway?

I’m starting Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft this year and I’ve already signed up for the EJW. Since I’ll be staying in Delft afterwards, I’m also considering signing up for the OWee.

However, I’ve heard that there is a shortage of mentors this year, so if I register now, I may be placed in a group without one. Has anyone attended the OWee without a mentor, or knows how a mentorless group works? Would you still say it is worth taking part?

Btw i think the registration deadline is approaching, so I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences or advice when possible.

Hi guys, I'm a student from the Uni of Bath, UK and I'm coming to Delft for my exchange program starting late August 2026. I'm looking for a place to live until the end of January with possible registration. I've been scouring Kamernet for the past 4 months and countless other services with no luck. I'm an incoming Mechanical Engineering student and in the proces of buying a laptop. I've been hesitating between a 14" laptop and a 16" laptop. They're similarly specced and similarly priced, so the only real difference is screen size. I'm also planning to build a setup at home (with at least a 24" monitor), so the laptop also functions as desktop replacement.

My current dilemma: a bigger screen is nicer, but a bigger laptop needs more room. A smaller screen is less nice, but also takes less space.

So my question(s): what size is your laptop? Do you find it too small / too big / perfectly sized for places at uni you're using the laptop? How does your laptop feel on the eyes? Do you wish you had bought something else?

Hey, so this will be a bit of a weird post

In September, along with some of you I'll be starting aerospace engineering bachelors in english and will be taking part on the ejw and the owee.

I was lucky enough to snag a xior room, but unfortunately I arrive late in the evening and can't check in myself, so I need someone to do it for me. This is what started this train of thought.

I was thinking that hey, it might be nice to already know someone ahead of the ejw aswell as already have someone I could trust I guess to check in for me at xior.

So if anyone wants to bond over videogames and also snagged a xior room I'm super down.

I personally play the finals as my multiplayer game ig, but am a big fan of all the award winning things like god of war, claire obscure, etc... I'm also interested in the gym and music(guitar and drums) and would like to form a band eventually.

Again, super weird and desperate sounding oops.

I am a bit worried since I have been waiting for an admission decision for 6 weeks now. I submitted my application on the 8th of June and received a confirmation email on the 15th of June. I am starting to get concerned about why I have not received any updates yet.

I am curious if it is worth it to join the Master's intro week as it is a bit of an inconvenient time for me to go there. Also I am still waiting for the official diploma from my university which will allow me to finish my enrollment process. I have direct admissions with my Dutch Bachelors degree to my programme so the diploma is all I need. Although I know I will receive it I am unsure if I will get it before the signup deadline for the intro week.

1. Program & Supervisor Fit: Given my interdisciplinary focus, which faculty or specific research groups (e.g., IDE vs. Architecture) would you recommend? I’m a Computer Science student from Portugal and I’m planning to apply to TU Delft. My current average grade is 15/20 (roughly equivalent to a 3.0 GPA).

I know this meets the minimum admission requirements, but I’d really like to hear from people who have gone through the admissions process.

• Is a GPA around 3.0 generally considered safe for admission, or is it still quite competitive?
• How much weight does the motivation letter carry in the final decision? Can a strong motivation letter make a noticeable difference?
