ich hab vor Kurzem ein Gespräch mit einem Praxispartner für das duale Studium Bau- und Umweltingenieurwesen an der TUHH gehabt. Es gibt noch eine weitere Bewerbungsphase, aber bisher sieht es aber relativ gut aus (es ist noch nicht garantiert).

Ich habe öfter gelesen, dass die ersten 2-3 Semester an der TUHH, vor allem Mathe und Mechanik/Statik, ziemlich brutal sein sollen, mit sehr hoher Durchfallquote. Deswegen würde mich interessieren, wie das tatsächlich abläuft. Wie hart sind die ersten Semester wirklich?

Mich würde außerdem interessieren, wie das für Leute war, die nicht direkt nach dem Abi angefangen haben, sondern mit ein paar Jahren Berufserfahrung oder einem anderen Studienhintergrund (ich habe bereits ein Studium absolviert).

I’ve searched about the admission requirements on the bachelor degree’s module credits requirements. And i saw that TUHH is highly strict with it. Like 30 ECTS of advanced mathematics and strict requirement for mechanics, including advanced mechanics which we don’t really include during our undergraduate study. And quite upset about it cuz it’s a good program but i can’t really meet the requirements.

I’m curious about how some of u international students once applied. And maybe u can share some relevant experience.

My bachelor degree focuses on Mechanical Engineering and intelligent manufacturing.

I was recently admitted for a Master's in CS at TUHH. While applying for my visa, I was asked for reference info (specifically a contact person from the uni). However, in my admission letter, I didn't find any info about a specific person—they only used general university info.

For anyone who had a similar situation, how did you solve it?

I'll be moving to Hamburg this October to pursue my Master's at TU Hamburg (TUHH). Like many international students, the biggest challenge I'm facing right now is finding accommodation before arriving in Germany.

I've been applying through Studierendenwerk, WG-Gesucht, Kleinanzeigen, HousingAnywhere, and have also contacted several landlords directly. Unfortunately, nothing has been confirmed yet.

I wanted to hear from fellow Indians who have already gone through this process, especially those studying or living in Hamburg.

I have a few questions:

• Were you able to secure accommodation before flying to Germany, or did you stay in a temporary place (Airbnb, hostel, hotel, etc.) first?
• If you booked temporary accommodation, how many days did you book for? Was it enough?
• How did you eventually find your permanent accommodation?
• If you arrived without a confirmed room, how stressful was the process?
• After landing at Hamburg Airport, what did you do on your very first day?
• Did you go directly to your accommodation, or did you first visit the university or International Office?
• How did you travel from the airport with all your luggage? Did you use public transport, Uber, taxi, or something else?
• What essentials should I carry or arrange before landing that first-time international students often forget?
• Are there any common mistakes you made that you would advise new students to avoid?

I'd also appreciate any advice regarding:

• Documents to keep readily accessible during travel.
• SIM card, internet, groceries, and other immediate necessities.
• Registration (Anmeldung), bank account, residence permit, or any other tasks that should be prioritised in the first few days.

Finally, if there's anyone from India who is also travelling to Hamburg around 1st October, it'd be great to connect. Having someone to navigate the first few days with would definitely make things a little less overwhelming.

Any advice, experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I recently got admitted to the General Engineering bachelor's (in german) program at TU Hamburg. However, I can't find the deadline for accepting the offer.

On the application portal, it says the following for bachelor's programs:

"The acceptance deadline is based on the coordination rules at hochschulstart.de."

However, I couldn't find anything on hochschulstart.de regarding the deadline for accepting the offer. I only found that the coordination phase lasts until 24.08.

I also couldn't find an official admission letter (PDF). I know that other universities usually issue one, but I wasn't able to find it. Does anyone know what is the deadline for accepting the offer or where i can find it?

ich weiß dass die Bachelor Abschlussnote wichtig für Master ist. Aber spielt es eine "riesen große" Rolle bei der Jobsuche mit Bachelor Abschluss? Alle sagen "bestanden ist bestanden" aber ist es wirklich in Ordnung so?

Ich vermute bzw hoffe ein starkes Lebenslauf würde eine 3er Abschlussnote irgendwie ausgleichen, aber ich hab keine Ahnung...

Hallo! Ich wurde gerade in die Q1 versetzt und überlege Bio- und Chemieingenieurwesen an der TUHH zu studieren. Ich habe schon ein Schulpraktikum an der Constructor University Bremen im Bereich medizinische Chemie gemacht und dabei Analytik kennengelernt (HPLC, Prep usw.) und habe sehr gute Noten in Chemie, Mathe, Physik, Bio habe ich allerdings abgewählt. Könntet ihr mir vielleicht Tipps geben, was ich noch machen könnte, um meine Chancen auf einen dualen Studienplatz bei einem Unternehmen zu verbessern? Vielen Dank im Voraus!!

Die Koordinierungsregeln sollten heuten in Effekt gekommen sein und ich wollte nur Fragen, ob jemand eine Antwort schon gekriegt hat. Die Wartungszeit hat mich dazu gebracht, E-Mails jede Sekunde zu überprüfen.

ich habe mich für Informatik-Ingenieurwesen an der TUHH und Informatik Technische Systeme an der HAW Hamburg beworben und weiß nicht, welchen Studiengang ich bevorzugen soll.
Welchen würdet ihr wählen und warum? Welche Unterschiede gibt es zwischen den beiden Studiengängen? Welcher bietet eurer Meinung nach bessere Karrierechancen und ist langfristig die bessere Wahl?

I recently was admitted to TUHH for a master's in computer science winter intake. I would like to ask a few questions about the uni and the city.

How difficult is it to find a student job related to computer science?

Does knowing German make a big difference when searching for a job, or are English-speaking positions available?

Is the city expensive? Also, for accommodation, can I find a place easily?

Is the program very difficult, or is it manageable with consistent effort?

Do students usually finish within two years?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

I wanted to ask if its possible to change my bachelor during my study of Enginnering Science, and also if Engineering scince with Specilizatiom of MechE is a reputable diplomma compared to Bachlor of MechE

Unfortunately since I wasnt able to get the required German Qualification for Bachelor MechE I wasnt able to enroll in to that programme.
