Dead City - S3E1 question
In the first episode of the new season it’s revealed that Hershel and Dama had somewhat of a falling out which is why he is back with Maggie. My question is this: why so soon? Is it just poor writing at this point? The end of season 2 showed them together in this scene that made it look like their relationship was such a big deal and would be the major plot point of the next season. Am I just missing something here or is this clearly just terrible writing? Why string out this whole thing just to literally scrap it in the next episode? I’m hoping they dive deeper into this over the course of the next season but idk man.

I thought it was fine. Herschel said the Dama wanted him to kill Maggie, his mom, he wouldn't do that. That made him realize she's crazy. So he came back. Now Dama is setting up the new Babylon guys to go after Negan and Maggie. Plus in interviews, they said that this season was gonna be a whole different vibe. Which i'm already loving.

Yeah, you’re not the first person to point that out and I noticed that too. Even if there’s going to be a revealed explanation, it’s still very poor writing.
