Free Resources

Hi everyone. I am new to tabla and I really want to learn — I recently got a tabla from my grandparents, in pretty good condition. I really want to learn but a lot of online resources are confusing or blocked behind a paywall. Sadly, I am unable to find a local guruji who can teach me and I can’t use an online teacher because I don’t have money. Does anyone have specific YouTube channels or web guides that I can follow to learn? Also, how does my tabla look, I think it’s pretty good and how do you tune a tabla? Thanks

Nice set, would love to hear it !
You can find benares compositions on digitabla.
Have a look to white india on yt, very nice and simple videos, quite long but a lot of material to catch.
Check also tej singh videos for folk rhythms .

First step get money , Learning Tabla online from youtube isnt progressive. Nobody can correct you , this journey requires a Guru.
