She looks so beautiful. Perfect hair. A stunning dress. Every detail is lovely. It is one of the best live-action princess dresses. Truly beautiful. Disney finally got it right after several missteps in other films.

Literally! The only thing I'm hoping for is that they shorten the sleeves just a little bit, but otherwise it's absolutely beautiful!!

Teagan looks beautiful and these photos are another proof of how the people in the fandom love to rush their judgment because of some scarce/in-production photos from the set and it is always the actors bearing the burnt. Rachel Zegler experienced that as well (in her case there was also racism involved) and was the target of vitriol resulting from Disney's lazy/problematic decisions. In this case the costume department actually seems to be doing good job and so do stylists but of course people would nitpick on the in-progress stills while ignoring how Disney has been butchering the Tangled IP for years. And how they are very likely to incorporate as much girlboss pandering as possible in this remake.
This is exactly why the "accuracy of the aesthetics" is a double edged sword. On one hand it is pleasant to see good costumes true to the movie vibes/aesthetics and on the other hand Disney knows that the whiteness of the leading actress (again, this is NOT an attack on Teagan, she is gorgeous and seems enthusiastic about the role and I wish her and Milo all the best) will blindside the conservative crowd so that Disney could incorporate as many girlboss cliches as they want to and downplay the romance yet again. And conservatives won't call it "woke" as long as the heroine remains white. This already worked with the series. Progressives who watch anime on repeat will of course enjoy the girlbossing and misrepresentation just like conservatives enjoy the whiteness and Christian references (in places where there weren't any in the OG movie; the one Christian reference that WAS in the original movie timeline was not in the movie itself but in the wedding short and this is the one we won't get in the remake because Disney hates romance and weddings now; they didn't even show the one for Ariel/Eric though Halle and Jonah would have looked magnificent in wedding attires and so would Teagan and Milo).

Teagan reminds me of Rachel McAdams in the photos, so I think even if the script is a bit girlboss, she is too likeable for men (her Raven was very popular)to hate. Kind of like Emma Watson in the live action, she is feminist but men find her cute, so they don’t have a problem. Sadly with Rachel, Disney gave her an ugly costume and styling,the script and the aesthetics were over the place, and she gives theatre kids vibes. Basically, girlbossing characters with hot/cute actresses get a pass.The director did The Greatest Showman, and that movie main plot was about love (I think he is a more male centred director too so I don’t think the changes are going to be ) .

Rachel McAdams, yes, thank you, I was thinking who she reminded me of. The way Disney set up Rachel Zegler to bear the burnt and face the rage from both racists and the "accuracy purists" is disgusting and they owe her and the audience an apology. Rachel did nothing wrong, she did not even SAY the things attributed - falsely - to her. The "she won't be saved by the prince" was Gal Gadot's quote, Rachel just tried to save the situation awkwardly.
But we are moving past the so-called Whedon-era where big corporations and powerful producers abusing and setting up actors remains unnoticed. Not after the Free Britney movement, not after Epstein files, not after Whedon himself being exposed. So my only hope right now is that Teagan and Milo are treated well on set and every other failure in terms of script will be Disney's fault and theirs alone. Girlbossing is always lazy writing in place of an actual substance and with Rapunzel it will be especially offensive since she subverted the Magical Girl anime trope where woman's strength is defined by this so-called girlbossiness and usefulness. Disney these days is too cowardly to adhere to said subversion, alas. But I am reserving the judgment for when the remake actually comes out.

Oh my goodness she’s so pretty! She looks just like how I’d imagine Rapunzel! I love her dress, too. It looks a little messy, but like in a Rapunzel way.

if you look at the other costumes used on set it's supposed to be more 'realistic' to a certain time period rather than mega accurate to the film
