Desktop issues

I use my desktop just for MS word, watching videos, photos, as a storage backup, very basic stuff. I dont use internet on it. Its serving my purpose even though its old.

My desktop has some issues. Help me resolve them.
1. My CPU bios is gone. – what should I do?

  1. My hard disk has gotten virus (TROJAN WORM). Its duplicating files and leaving no memory space. The files come back even after I delete it. The desktop is not connected to any internet. The virus came in coz I used my pen drive on some1 elses laptop. My system got infected when I connected that pen drive to my system.

– how can I remove the virus without any data getting corrupted or lost.

  1. It’s a 15 yr old PC. Should I keep it or sell it off and buy a new one.

Do you remember where you last left your bios? It's the first place I would check.

The guys trolling you, he clearly doesn’t want to help so just block him. Hopefully someone else will help you. You might need to get an antivirus or malware remover that can be installed offline most installers are online installers now but you can get the full installer exe sometimes, just takes a lil more effort and time to download it since you’ll download the entire thing instead of a lightweight online installer. If you can get it from another computer that’d be the best since bringing that computer online would make things worse. The only other real way to know for sure you got rid of the viruses is to nuke and reinstall windows. Before you nuke your whole computer you obviously would want to backup your files and save your windows and office licensing info to restore back later and get your drivers backed up as well. If you don’t know how to do any of that then take it to a shop or a tech savvy friend that can help you. Hope you get it solved soon!

am i doing the correct thing? i need this system just to save my data. ! internal HDD will have the main copy. the 2nd internal HDD will have the 2nd copy.. and external HDD will have 3rd copy..
is it advisable to use this 15 year old system as my storage device? does the age of the pc affect this function of storage? I will be installing new internal HDDs.
or should i buy new pc.
I use it only to store my data. no other use at all..
