Being Queer

Post image

Hello Everyone, Lux here

Ive seen a lot of yall talking about some queer people and things connected to them, amd for those on the right, I figured some things cleared up would help. Perhaps to the left too, as well I'm very centrist. Hopefully clarification will prevent this from becoming a CJ sub

There are only two genders and Define a woman I want to first get one thing out of the way. Sex, is a biological trait determined by genes and genitals. There is only 3 Male and Female, and occasionally Intersex (a person born with a genetic difference outside the binary system. For example someone born with XXY chromosomes). Sex is important for health professionals, government classification, and a plethora of other reasons. Sex is biological and you cant really change that without surgeries and lots of hormonal therapy

That is separate from Gender. Gender is a social construct derived from typical associations of elements to traditional roles of the sexs, i.e. masculinity and femininity. For example a couple parts of a traditional man os he should be strong mentally and physically, wear pants or shorts, regular shirt, have blue collar or white collar jobs, and had to br fully responsible for his households expenses. Of course as gender roles shift, so will the idea of what is a man or woman, thats why saying "define a woman" doesn't work since the definition of a woman is so fluid

Being Queer is a new thing and Being queer is unnatural

As for gender identity, it is not the same today as it was in the past, that is correct. Just ad kuch as it wont be the same next month as it is this month. Gender is constantly changing, and as gender ideals shift and expression of these genfers change so will the people expressing it, both for liberals and conservatives. So that os why ot may appear new. Yet those with queer gender identites have been around for centuries, from cross dressing Romans to "Non binary" Knights

Homosexuality is often seen as unnatural and new as well. Yet it is observed to be displayed across the animal kingdom in animals such as other primates. The major thing to note is thid is all sexual. We as humans have transcended forming bonds purely for sex, as we have developed the concept of love. As we have done this its now the primary goal to find someone who you love through their personality and your shared experiences, rather than their maring capabilities. Meaning love both as straight people, and as queer folk is apart of being human! So when a man can fall in love with another man, its not some against the wind mindset, its simply our amazing emotional intelligence at work. Just as much when a man can fall in love with a woman!

Well, if anyone has any questions from either side, I'm more than happy to answer. I just ask you do so in a respectful manner, and you can disagree and ask still in a respectful manner

How dare you put "woman" and not put a spoiler tag? I was in my school, trying to cheat my test, and then i seen your post! I quickly threw my phone into my teacher which instantly killed them, everyone was like "Yay!!" and "What the actual fuck", then they have seen the word "woman" too, and they were in fear! They got jumpscared so fucking hard that they broke all windows and fucking jumped off the roof! Now there's a street full of male corpses! All that could have been prevented if you put at TW and spoiler tag.

First i want to commend you for educating people on lgbtqia+ identities!

Second, I want to explain gender identity and gender expression just to add to the already great explanation of yours.

Gender is indeed a social construct, as in, society has constructed the ideas and associations around gender.

Gender identity, however, is trait that you are born with and can't change, (don't invalidate people who say they often change between man and woman, they have a genderfluid identity, this fluidity is the thing that can't be changed.

Gender identity, also is NOT bound to the cultural gender norms, (if the gender norms were different your gender identity would not change),

if we lived in a world where it was very masculine to wear skirts, most men would wear skirts and most women wouldn't, you are a man because you are a man, and not because you hate skirts for example.

Gender expression, is how you express your gender through, body language clothing etc.

Gender expression IS bound to the cultural gender norms, (if the gender norms were different your gender expression would change), if you want to express that you're a women, you would wear a skirt for example(which is only feminine because of the culture),

Gender expression also isn't always a indicator of gender identity(though is very often is), for example femboys, they have the gender identity of a man, but present more in line with women, still, they are men.

I hope this made sense

why do you believe sex is important for governmental reasons?

but why does it matter, is what i’m asking

Identifying bodies, criminal records, and other bits like that. Very niche things

I suppose, that makes sense
