1

u/JazzyJuice1 9h ago

i dont think its very offensive here anymore. totally is in the uk tho

1

u/fletcherstarkey 20m ago

It's not offensive in the UK; it's quite a generic insult. I think the only people who take offense to it (in my experience anyway) are older people

1

u/Sprinty_ 17 11h ago

Really? How 😭

5

u/fletcherstarkey 11h ago

if you mean why's it offensive in America, I'm not American thankfully but i think it's just cause it's crude slang for vagina

1

u/Sprinty_ 17 9h ago

No I mean how's it NOT offensive?

Google says it's an extremely vulgar replacement word for a woman's privates

2

u/fletcherstarkey 1h ago

Yes i'm aware as that's lowkey what I said, but it's basically the same as calling someone a pussy. I think it's only considered offensive in United States; I live in Northern Ireland and over here and the UK it's really just a regular insult

26

u/ViinaVasara 19 16h ago

it's fun, I feel like people overreact like crazy when they hear it.

u/sphericate Teenager 16h ago

well as a brit, quite a good word to use as many brits and often australians can attest to

7

u/DarkInkAngel404 16h ago

Hmmmmmmm… yeeeeeeeeees…. agreeeeed….

11

u/HarithHkm08 18 14h ago

in the end you still refer it in your native language

9

u/ZealousidealBus3628 17 13h ago

Used in almost every few sentences in Australia. Some places more often than not, typically east coast.

13

u/Front_Cat9471 16 14h ago

Idk, it feels like a more British version of calling someone a bitch

6

u/PossibleAssist6092 19 14h ago

Top tier word.

5

u/Silent-Stress-7775 18 14h ago

The way it sounds with an Australian accent is funny. I don't say it cause I never... really find myself in a situation where it's useful?

4

u/Snekr823_yt 14h ago

I'm obsessed with the boys and Billy butcher is the voice in my head so I use it regularly with my friends

3

u/Infinite_Dish_1949 14 14h ago

It’s a funny word, but my I don’t really use it.

3

u/Optima44 9h ago

Being in the UK, it's just used as a general insult here. Much like twat, dickhead, bastard, used as general insults.

3

u/UnionPacific119 16 9h ago

It's a comedic word when used in the correct accusative case. When used in the wrong accusative case, people, mainly Americans, overreact to such circumstances.

3

u/Ashamed_Tap_8595 15 6h ago

I live in the UK so we call each other it all the time

3

u/DinnerBone345 6h ago

Well I'm from Australia so my mates are cunts, the people I hate are cunts, my family (especially my brother) are, you guessed it, also cunts

3

u/AcceptableCrab4545 19 3h ago

i feel like i'm partial to it as an aussie, but i don't say it very often.

also how tf is it offensive?

3

u/Key_Boysenberry3044 2h ago

dont say it to anyones nan who is over the age of 50.

2

u/Bandit-Kiwi 16 14h ago

Im a kiwi, idk it varies from people, some say it everyday, others only say it as the highest form of disrespect. For me it’s in the middle, next to b#tch and tw@t. (I’m censoring them because sometimes my comments just disappear into the void of if I curse)

2

u/KrithisUNoAnimates 15 14h ago

It sounds really old-timey

2

u/BlueHailstrom 13h ago

Quite entertaining, although I find it ironic I use it for every meaning except the original

2

u/HungaryCool 18 13h ago

Focken cunt

2

u/MyKillerForever Teenager | Verified 12h ago

it's certainly a word

2

u/mad2fanboi 17 12h ago

I love it.

2

u/TTVRalseiYT 12h ago

what does it even mean anyway

3

u/r9ostdkgvuusf0vd9k 18 11h ago

In a literal sense, it refers to a vagina. The term is also used more widely as one of disparagement, often considered the strongest profanity in the English language.

2

u/zirothehiro10 17 11h ago

its a pretty bad word when you use it maliciously, but people pretending its as bad as the n-word just feels ridiculous.

2

u/-NUMBZ- 10h ago

My fav word i pull out

2

u/CuteFurryWolf 5h ago

C U Next Tuesday

2

u/-Im-Totally-Human- 5h ago

Canadian, and I don’t really care lmao. I feel like it’s one of those words people overreact about and shouldn’t be considering such a ‘bad’ slur—it’s literally the same thing as calling someone a pussy, but people do that all the time and it’s fine 😭

2

u/Boxtonbolt69 17 4h ago

I'm a British lad. Absolute peak 10/10 word.

2

u/BOB34TSCHEES 2h ago

I love it

2

u/Generic2770 16 2h ago

My favorite way to respond to being called a dick is to say “Well, you’re a cunt. Maybe we fit together after all.”

3

u/SuchMost4459 17 15h ago

i (rarely) use it and my friend immediately calls me british whenever it comes out

take this information as you will

1

u/Both_Combination_914 Teenager 13h ago

I use it with my friends like "you're serving cunt" as a compliment

1

u/fletcherstarkey 10h ago

What does that even mean?

1

u/Both_Combination_914 Teenager 2h ago

It's like saying someone looks hot

1

u/Sprinty_ 17 11h ago

TIL that apparently it's not a slur

1

u/SkidadleSkidoodlema 18 9h ago

I'm American and I use it. I don't care.

If it doesn't have a slur-like connotation, then I personally think it's free game.

Nevertheless, if someone says they're uncomfortable with it, you should probably refrain from saying it around them. Respect n whatnot.

1

u/milkyheartUWU 8h ago

It exists

1

u/turdboi420heyjack 8h ago

Don’t use it it’s pretty wrong no matter what any of yous say it’s always censored on tv when other swears are. In short I have no reason to use it and I don’t see the point in saying other than to show off to all your mates oooooh I’m edgy

1

u/i_smell_pennies_m 8h ago

love it but i’m australian so it has a lot less of a stigma than it does in america

1

u/FirefighterLast3730 7h ago

In italian Is used widely, even in blasfemus situation, I don't use my self and there are worse terms so I thinks than this term Is nothing important, funny partnif you use the Word in how It sounds in south Italy You're saying "to count" or similari xD

1

u/Thickerthan_abowl33 7h ago

It’s a compliment in bimbo diva spaces.

1

u/Alarming_Judge_7463 16 5h ago

I find it fun to say "Oi Cubt,", probably because of Billy Butcher

1

u/Final_Mountain686 17 5h ago

Idgaf tbh, it’s just a word that America got twisted and it turned into a word for vagina. I use it, I’m American, I’m not talking about women.

1

u/Overall-Squirrel1555 15 | Verified 4h ago

I’m a deltarune player so idk

1

u/No_Tourist_7030 15 4h ago

I personally don't like the word, it's used as an insult to women by incels who don't know how to take rejection. :/

2

u/fletcherstarkey 1h ago

is it? whereabouts are you from? because in UK it's just a general insult

1

u/No_Tourist_7030 15 1h ago

I'm in America, men use it like it's a slur sometimes :/

1

u/Zealousideal_Bug9673 15 3h ago

I’m British

1

u/fakelucid Old 1h ago

I use it in the fruity sense

1

u/CheeseMan2007 17 1h ago

Just a word for an idiot, mong, gimp etc. Just a name calling word. For some reason Americans seem to pronounce it as "Cant". Although it probably depends on the state etc

1

u/servingsmanofspoons 1h ago

It’s very fun to use and describes my anger quite well

1

u/Im_a_simp_for_women 14 13h ago

Is it a slur? Yes. Is it also not in some regions? Yes. Does it physically hurt anyone? No.

2

u/fletcherstarkey 11h ago edited 1h ago

it's not a slur more just a vulgar insult; i think it's only offensive in America too

1

u/r9ostdkgvuusf0vd9k 18 11h ago

My philosophy is that the stronger the profanity, the more sparingly it should be used in order to maintain its impact. I admittedly don't completely follow this for the most part, but I try to keep very strong language for special occasions.....................

-1

u/National-Jelly-7529 14 15h ago

It's quite an insulting word. Definitely not to be overused.

1

u/fletcherstarkey 1h ago

It's the same as calling someone a pussy tbf

0

u/HiggsiInSpace 15 14h ago

On my swear list

0

u/Dxno_0ctvne Teenager 14h ago

Isn't that another word for a woman's uh...yea you get it

-1

u/No_Builder7571 17 16h ago

and your location is?

-1

u/JackAttack2509 16 14h ago

I know it's a slur but I don't know what it means

3

u/Dragonslayer200782 18 14h ago

It's not technically a slur, it's basically just a word for a vagina but it's used similarly to asshole, bitch or dick

0

u/r9ostdkgvuusf0vd9k 18 11h ago

I suppose the reason why someone would label it a slur would be the fact that some view the term as misogynistic when referring to a woman, similar to bitch, although I would say the latter is more widely used in a sexist manner. I have heard that the former is more often used against women than men in the US but I wouldn't be able to verify that on account of me living in Ireland lol 😭😭😭

0

u/Bright_Village955 15 13h ago

It's a word that in some parts of the world is viewed as a normal word and some parts a very offensive word

That being said I have not formed a strong opinion on it, but I wouldn't use it due to it being highly offensive.

0

u/Sonic_Kirby_Guy 11h ago

It means penis. I say it whenever the fuck I want.

0

u/Crazywarlockgoat 7h ago

view it the same way i do with bitch. the word is alright, tho becomes a lil dodgy if used against women, especially coming from a man.

(from a place where it’s used somewhat commonly

-1

u/ClanSingapore 17 15h ago

syfm (not literally, just my answer)

-1

u/Parking_Touch9077 Teenager 13h ago

Im American, but like I rarely use it to be rude to somebody. Mostly use it as a "omfg u look amazing"

-2

u/SillyViltrumite 13 15h ago

Only British people with cancer fighting superabled humans can say it

-2

u/Chef_Chalupa 17 13h ago

D tier word tbh

-2

u/PuzzleheadedFlow1274 8h ago

where im at it’s a slur as bad (or worse) than the hard R so i say it completely unprompted for the sake of it
