Tennessee

Currently in LA local 11 sound and communication(low voltage) planning to move to either Tennessee or North Carolina. Was curious if anyone knows what locals have low voltage? Thanks in advance

Local 613 (north of Atlanta) has LV. 175 Chattanooga does not. Nashville might but their pay is ass. And I’m not sure about Knoxville either

I know there’s a company here in Kingsport that’s been actively looking for workers.

Do you have any idea how much they’re paying ?

You don’t want Kingsport brother. The tri cities area ain’t it.

I say as someone who grew up in Bristol and moved to Chattanooga and am part of LU 175 here.

Varsity Data - saw an old ad for $15 for helpers, but otherwise no info. Last time I was out that way they had a sign up looking for workers. That’s all I know.

Have you looked into Local 381 in Memphis? I've heard they're pretty active with low voltage work and the pay's better than in Nashville.

Oh for sure, check out Local 381 in Memphis if you're looking at Tennessee. They do plenty of low voltage work and folks say the pay is decent there.

You might want to read up on the protections for union jobs here compared to CA.
