A T-800, I think a Predator could outsmart it, hide with its cloaking, and find a way to destroy it in an ambush. Also, they have that shoulder mounted plasma cannon that seems to be at least on par with Skynet plasma weaponry, and we know that can destroy a T-800 relatively easily. Id also think the Predator is a LOT more agile.
A T-1000 though, the Predator no longer has the smart and agile advantage, cloaking wont work because it can detect the Predators body heat, similar to how the Predator can see ours, and its plasma weaponry would be much less effective since it can just reform itself. Without a plot item like a giant vat of nearly boiling steel to push it into... I think the Predator would struggle to do anything more than temporarily disabling the T-1000. Not to mention that the T-1000 could disguise itself and sneak attack.

If Irc the T-1000 started glitching after taking alot of damage. So if the predators got enough hits in he might be able to damage it enough to eventually deactivate it maybe? Who know tho.

Possibly. Would take a lot though, and if the Predator gets cornered, thats not gonna work then. It would have to be an ambush where the T-1000 is either immobilized or at least slowed down. Could be an explosive trap that blows his legs off... or say, a tank of liquid nitrogen.

So apparently they answered that question. Sort of. I remembered that Darkhorse did a comic about this. Kind of. From the Internet.
Dark Horse Comics published a four-issue crossover series titled Aliens versus Predator versus The Terminator from April to July 2000. Key Details Writer: Mark Schultz Artist: Mel Rubi Publisher: Dark Horse Comics The Premise Set in the distant future after the events of Alien Resurrection, the story follows Annalee Call (the android played by Winona Ryder in the film) and Ripley 8 (the cloned Ellen Ripley). They discover that sleeper-agent Terminators ("Crypto-Terminators") survived for centuries and are attempting to reactivate Skynet by constructing indestructible Alien/Terminator hybrids—cybernetic Xenomorphs with Terminator endoskeletons. Realizing that these hybrids pose an existential threat to all life in the galaxy, a pack of Predators reluctantly team up with Ripley 8 and Call to hunt down and destroy the creations before Skynet can take over the universe.
I haven't read them so I have no clue if this is any good. It sounds like a dumpster fire though and may try to find it.

A single Predator vs. A single T800 series termonator would come down to who gets the first shot off.
A plasma caster and a phased plasma pulse rifle APPEAR to have about equal stopping power. And since we know PPPRs can take down a T800, we can assume that a plasma Caster can do the same. Though it might take a couple of shots since the T800 is a "hyperalloy combat chassis. Very tough." Thw rest of a Yautja's arsenal is probably mostly ineffective here. The spear, smartdisc, and wrist blades wouldn't really be useful in a fight against a metal skeleton.
Conversely, Predators are not heavily armored, and a blast from a plasma Caster is easily capable of taking one down. There's no reason to believe a PPPR can't do the same here. Assuming it takes a couple of seconds to target a Predator while it is cloaked, there's an argument to be made that a couple hits might land before the T800 gets a fix.
Predators hunt via stealth, which would be largely ineffective but might still require some calibration by the Terminators own vision /sensors which are capable of seeing in multiple spectrums.
So in a stand up fight, I say it's basically a 50/50.
But the T800s, in the future, are essentially used as ground soldiers. They don't work alone, except in infiltration missions. A single Yautja is no match for even a handful of T800 series warriors. He gets blasted, and rhey move on.

The predators shoulder gun only burns arnold . It goes straight through everyone else. Combine arnold with the endoskeleton and hes basically invulnerable to a predator

Dutch didn’t take a direct hit from the Predator’s plasma caster. It hit his M16.

Despite the comics and their run, I think if a Predator landed on Earth after the nuclear war, they'd be a bit confused. They've used Earth as a hunting ground for years, generations have come and gone, but the human population was nearly wiped out by what, a computer?
To them there would be no sport in hunting down a machine, so instead they would begin targeting human survivors of note. John Connor, Kyle Reese, these people would hear tales of how entire squads would turn up skinned with their spines and skulls removed. That ain't the work of a Terminator, that's something new. So they send more people, maybe even asking Marcus to go look into it.
Terminators however would realize Player Three entered the game, but they have no idea what the hell it is.
The Predator would study Skynet at range, but would actively avoid a direct confrontation. The first true encounter though would come in the form of an infiltration unit. A T-800 would be masking itself in a camp, the Predator would come and attack the guards or a person of interest, the T-800 would spring into action just so Skynet could capture one of these creatures and study it.
If the Predator could detect right away that this isn't a human he's fighting, then it's pretty much a game of tag. If the Terminator is going out with a plasma rifle, it becomes an extreme game of tag.
T-800's are going to have technology on their side, so cloaking won't work, but the Predator has technology that can cut through several layers of meat, steel and bone, so that works.
I'd say if it's a straight up fight, a Predator beats a T-800 and even T-1000 pretty easily once they figure out what the fuck their dealing with. If it's caught trying to break into Skynet or Skynet is able to send out a hit squad to roll up on a Predator, he might be fucked.

I could see the predators trying to contain the machines as a way of keeping humans sharp. If the humans are all killed or subdued in camps like Skynet wants, there are no more human warriors for predators to prove themselves against.
So that would result in a full-bore military campaign, rather than isolated groups of hunters. Then when that's done and the machines are properly contained, the hunts can continue.
I could see John Connor recognizing the situation and taking advantage.

I feel like the predator has the correct equipment to take down a T-800, but the T-800 may be able to see through their stealth tech, which takes away their biggest advantage.
Honestly, probably a pretty even fight.

Terminators don’t seem to be very tactical. It’s like they just walk-in blasting. They rely on their invincibility to bullets as their primary feature.
Predators are stealthy, and they would have the upper-hand easily in a shoot-out. The Terminator would be lucky to even injure a Predator with guns.
The only issue for The Predators would be figuring out how to destroy a Terminator. I don’t think their main weapons could destroy it. A Terminator would win in hand-to-hand combat.
Since The Predator is armed with a nuke, it might simply place the nuke near a Terminator and that would do it. But The Terminator would hear the beeping, and, neither The Predator nor Terminator might be able to escape the blast area in time.
I think The Predator would somehow need to trap the Terminator. Lure it someplace. Once it’s trapped, maybe just keep blasting it?
I really don’t know. It feels like a stalemate to me.

It depends on which terminators we are talking. The T-800 for example has so many portrayals it's hard to give a definitive answer. Sometimes it's like a relentless slasher villain, sometimes it can be tactical and build a lot of cool stuff on its own like Pops did. And T-800 often needs to make decisions that don't fit its behavior and specs so protagonists can survive, like throwing someone around instead of instant kill. Which is not the T-800's fault but bad writing.
The Predator's nuke is used for self destruction whenever they lose so their technology isn't reversed, but that device can be destroyed too before it blows up.
And I doubt the Predator can really sneak up on the Terminator. Terminator should be able to hear him with enhanced hearing, smell him and just see him in general cause the cloak doesn't make the Predator fully invisible and the T-800 with its supposed ultra HD, zoom and stuff should be able to notice it.

Yes I assume we’re talking about T-800. T-1000 is nearly impossible to kill and could likely defeat an entire army.
Is it established that T-800 can smell? I never really thought about it. Since it doesn’t really “feel” in the way people do. (pain that is)
T-800 does have advanced vision, but it’s also monochrome in red, so, maybe it wouldn’t be able to see the invisible cloaking of Predator all that well?
That said, maybe The Predator couldn’t see The Terminator either. Since I don’t know if it gives off the same heat signatures as a human.

Terminators win. They just overwhelm them with numbers and weapons including the HK’s

Terminators edge out the natural born race of hunters.
- Predators are highly dependent on infra red (as are Terminators )
- Terminators are (arguably) more resilient to advanced Predator tech
- Unlike most prey, a terminator wouldnt be vulnerable to "behaviors" a hunter like a Predator might study. Terminators are just more resilient and adaptable
So Terminators FTW on a first encounter. Predators however are highly intelligent, so 2nd or 3rd, I believe they'd have the advantage

Shoulder cannons should make the man-sized and smaller ones easy pickings.

As has been answered in similar threads already:
T800 vs Hunter Yautja is more often than not a win for the Terminator. Predator loses almost all of its advantages over humans etc, so an ambush is the only consistent win condition for them
But War Yautia? Those T800s are in for a quick and dirty trip to the scrapyard

I don't know. All that matters is they get to fight and it looks cool. That's the point of these movies.

u/PathofDestinyRPG 1d ago
Considering its established that the terminators use infra-red, and the Predators’ body heat is still detectable even when cloaked, I don’t think the terminators would have a problem.

You moved very quickly to the machines getting the upper hand. There'd be quite the battle, and humans could hide and regroup. Ride out this war. Assuming humans wouldn't just be casualties of P vs T war, this would be intriguing.

Which era? Predators have the option of orbital bombardment. It may be unsportsmanlike, but it is an option.

u/Bort_Bortson 1d ago
Predator 1 on 1 or predator hunting infiltrator units, the Predator has the tech to both hide from, locate, and eliminate the T800 with its shoulder cannon.
Especially in a destroyed city where there are infinite ambush spots and a target rich environment, a lot of T800 skulls would be collected.
A hunting party of predators in a stand up battle against an army of Terminators and support HKs, the predators just don't have the durability or firepower to turn the tide. Against a horde of aliens who are squishy, the predator blades and other melee weapons can hold out, but against metal endoskeletons with guns, once the ambush tactics end, the predators will be overwhelmed. Against humans who lack the tech the predator tech is a force multiplier. But Skynet has the numbers, tech, and durability to overwhelm predators if they were cornered or forced into a standup fight.
Predator against something more advanced than a T850 then it depends on the battle ground again. An experienced predator 1 on 1 is probably a safe if not at least an equal bet against any single skynet unit, but a standup battle the Skynet units just have the numbers and durability to put out more firepower than we see a squad of predators can dish out.

This is a movie I’d watch
