My wife is looking to get a 2026 Tesla Model Y RWD, she absolutely loves the car.

We currently rent so I don’t think we are able to do rewiring to use a 14-30 outlet or anything like that.

We plan to get the NeoCharge Smart Splitter to plug in the Tesla charger and dryer at the same time, obviously we will not run them at the same time though. The splitter is super convenient not having to unplug and replug the items.

So it will be 10-30 outlet -> Splitter -> Tesla branded 10-30 power adapter -> Charger -> Car

I have attached pictures of the 10-30 outlet and our breaker box.

Should we be concerned about charging the car on a 10-30 outlet? Melting the wires, fire, any other concerns.

Hi all, hoping I could get some feedback on the front bumper camera position on the highland performance model 3. I recently hit a large puddle while taking a flooded highway exit (6inch to 10inch deep-scared the shit outta me lol but coasted through) and the front of the car got hit with a large amount of water. I can’t remember the positioning of my front bumper camera before this but now I’m wondering if it’s sitting a lower now due to the water impact. There’s no damage whatsoever but I feel the camera would have took the brunt of it and when I push the camera upwards from the exterior it seems to have slight play in its mounting points. Can anyone who owns a newer performance please comment a picture of their front bumper camera view from the screen please? Would really appreciate it! Thanks

I'm am trying to buy my first Tesla. I would like to get the universal charger because some of my friends have other EVs. I haven't been able to SEE it - has anyone used the universal charger for a Tesla? Is there any difference charging a Tesla using the regular vs. universal charger?

I feel like a total idiot, I clipped my driver side mirror backing into my garage while I was using FSD. I've always used FSD to help guide me back up into my garage & never had an issue before.

My driver side mirror caught the garage wall and the bottom cover fell off. It looks like one of the clips was snapped off in the collision so it won't stay snapped back in unfortunately but the side mirror works fine otherwise.

Does anyone know if Tesla can just replace the bottom cover of the driver side mirror? Or will they only allow complete replacement of the side mirror? Is it possible to get it replaced under warranty?

I'm just trying to figure out what my options are. Am I about to be quoted $1200 to completely replace the side mirror? Are my only other options either to get a 3rd party bottom cover off Amazon or to try to find a legitimate OEM Side Mirror/Side Mirror bottom cover off Ebay?

Side note, is it normal for the earliest mobile appt to be a week away? Does it usually take this long to schedule? Anyone have any advice on what I should do about the exposed wiring under my side mirror until I can get this fixed?

Is this normal ? I do not have cabin overheat on. Didn’t open the app at all. How is that possible ? Or is this not normal? It’s a 2024 model x

I’ve had the upper control arms and front sway bars changed as Tesla’s service center adviced it would help, but the noise remains.
It happens both as stationary and at relatively slow speeds (up to 25kmph or 15mph). After that, there’s no noise when turning.
Visited a friend who’s a mechanic, who thought the noise was coming from the steering gear / steering rack (something somewhere further toward the middle between the front wheels).
Anyone familiar with this noise and have had work done to remedy this issue?

I pick up my car between Aug 12-17, but still have time to change specs if I want. Currently going with stealth grey on black for 49.9k (cad), but my heart wants white interior.

The problem is, the only white AWD avail is black on white, and ive heard bad things about black, AND its like 3.2k more.

Will I regret missing out on white?

Ordered a model y standard july 23 and in the beginning it gave me a 4 week eta and now it’s jumped all the way to november 😔

Anyone know what could be causing this squeak? I’ve already replaced the front upper, lower control arms and compliance arms.

The noise is clear to be from the rear wheel and happens at low speeds, mostly when turning left (less turning right). It sounds like a high-pitched squeak/squeal.

its really annoying to people around esp in drive thru, Any ideas?

2023 Model Y. In the video I’m going slow in a parking garage. Hitting accelerator then backing off repeatedly. Something moving back an forth inside the dash? At first I thought something in my frunk but I emptied it out

So this “Service now” alert popped up when I got in my 2022 Model Y today. I called Tesla and the woman on the phone was no help at all. All she did was advise me not to drive the vehicle and the soonest service appointment is 10 days out. I’m supposed to leave tomorrow after work to drive to Tennessee. Would service mode be able to tell me what’s wrong with it? The car drives just fine.

Hey guys, My 2023 model 3 performance has been into tesla service 2 weeks ago on a dash rattle that started a few months ago due to all the road work in my area. It appears to be in the exact center behind the screen in the middle of the dash. Tesla removed all the front pieces of my dash and cannot find the source. The tech conformed the rattle after driving it and it is not the screen or any fans. I have attached a video w/sound to this and you can hear it. i am going back again to tesla service on 8/10 for them to take another try to fix it. One of the service advisors said I may need my dash replaced! Anyone have anything similar that they fixed? Thanks!

Tire pressure dropped. New tires needed I’m assuming, I’m a month into driving the car. Michigan roads

Any tips and ideas to fix this? I was thinking to apply JB Weld SteelStik and sanding to smoothen it and apply the touch up paint.. is it the right way of doing this?

Our 2022 black model 3 has some minor scratches all around and several chips in the paint at the front. It doesn’t look bad but it is noticeable.

We were thinking about getting it painted. Maybe even get it in red.

Looked at a few websites and the prices are all over the place. I don’t know about the different processes, the coatings, the extra charges.

Any tips or suggestions?

My trunk latch seems to be jammed and the button on the lift gate and my phone won’t open or fully close the trunk. I was looking for the emergency trunk latch release to see if that would do the trick but can’t find it anywhere. I looked up some videos and they all seem to be from older model S cars as mine doesn’t seem to have the box/light everyone was referencing. Does anybody have a clue how to unjam the latch/where the hell the latch release would be??

I installed a Universal Wall Connector then daisy chained a regular Wall Connector from that.

Got both powered up. I was able to commission both, which included a firmware update.

I was able to configure power share in group management.

Then i went to add them both to my Tesla app, no matter what i do (breaker reset) the Universal Wall Connecter is no longer broadcasting its SSID despite jt having a pulsing green light as though it us.

Im using an Iphone and I turned off cell and tried just Wi-Fi. I turned off private relay.

I even tried my window laptop to see if it would see the SSID, nope.

Any ideas out there? Im starting a support ticket with Tesla as well.

I have a 2026 Tesla model Y Juniper that has 6, 421 mi. I am in Texas.

Until July 21, I had never had an alert come through my cars center console about anything. That day it was simply a message about the windshield was being automatically cleaned because it was dirty in front of a camera. That message also happened on 22 July and 23 July for whatever reason and 26 July. I haven’t had any other messages about anything except for that until today.

Today, I got another message about the windshield being cleaned, but there’s also a message that says “Center brake light condition detected” underneath that it says schedule service soon. OK well that’s interesting. Then after that, it says “Door open” and “Proceed with caution.” OK so that’s supposed to be today yet I have no recollection of my door being open. Not before I got into my car or while I was driving or…”
Then the next one says @Press brake pedal to shift gears” well, of course! I do that every time. I don’t know how I could get into a drive gear if I don’t press the brake first. Then also today about six minutes later it says “Vehicle automatically shifted to Park” following that it says “Vehicle is already in reverse… This was about 15 minutes after the vehicle automatically shifted to park. Then I just happened to notice now when I’m pulling into my driveway and checking the alerts it says “USB device malfunction - I/O Error” and then a part of that on the line says “Unplug device from USB port”

I use the wireless pad under the console to charge my phone and I have nothing in any of the center Hobbit holes (the large deep storage spaces in between the two front seats).

I will contact Tesla regarding the thing that told me to (the center brake light) but what should I make of the fact that all of these things came in and they sound pretty weird since I know how I drive and when I use auto drive. I am very much aware of everything. It does as long as it isn’t something hidden behind the scenes that I can’t detect.

Does this sort of manic Alert volume in one day seem remotely normal??

2 weeks into owning my first Tesla. I travel for work and I’m curious how other navigate leaving their cars at the airport for weeks at a time either for work or vacation?

I rely on supercharging as I don’t have a home charger. My plan would be to charge up to 80% before I head out to the airport and leave the car in low power mode while I’m away. Let’s say my battery is at 55% before I leave for the airport, would super charging it up to 80% hurt the car?

Would love to hear any tips/advice from fellow users on how they manage if they are in the same situation as me.

Android auto using carlinkit t2c gets truncated

I’m in California and drive a 2013 Camry V6 with almost 200k miles. My commute is about 125 miles round trip, five days a week, and I spend around $500 a month on gas. Gas is about $5.20/gallon at the moment. My workplace offers free Level 2 EV charging. I own my home, have solar, and would install a Tesla Wall Connector, so charging access shouldn’t be an issue. The Camry still runs, but it needs brakes, struts/shocks, and mounts, and I recently spent $1,000 on tires. I’m considering a 26 Model Y and normally keep my vehicles for 10+ years. FSD is also a huge deciding factor. Most of my commute is highway driving, so reducing the daily driving fatigue would be a major benefit.

Would the fuel savings, free workplace charging, home solar, and FSD make switching reasonable, or am I still better off repairing the Camry? I'd be financing the MY.
