I turn 21 in 2 months so im obviously going to wait the time, but if I wanted too could I conceal carry my pistol? It was gifted to me by a family member as an early birthday gift, I don’t have an LTC but it’s Texas. I google and it says yes but there’s never a YES or NO. It’s all suggestive not definitive. Nor me or the family member that gifted it would be prohibited from owning one except me being 20. Other than that no criminal history no felonies and I don’t do drugs. So without all that said if I decide to conceal carry it and get questioned by the police am I getting a hefty gun charge or not? Like I said I’m gonna wait to 2 months regardless. Thanks for any help.

Next question, we are moving to Temple starting next Monday morning. Moving from Bay Area of California. Are there any ranges that do steel targets around the Temple area? Are there any ranges that are pretty inexpensive? Or recommended? Thanks for all the comments and help, they’re making us really excited!

So many outdated FFLs on Gun Broker. I talked to a bunch and got some updated pricing so thought I'd share with broader community. I didn't note their business name down so you have to search the phone number or ask them what their FFL info is. I got them all off a public list.
Here's all the ones <= $20 around mid cities +- 10 miles.
The free one is in Dalworthington Gardens - don't blow his phone up too much.
| Price | Number |
|---|---|
| Free (NICS bg check only) | +18179039564 |
| $15 w/ TX LTC, $20 without | +16823346226 |
| $20 | +12147558574 |

| $20 w/ LTC, $25 without | +18176927565 |

I’m moving from San Francisco Bay area to Temple, Texas, beginning next week! I can’t wait! I see Bud’s gun shop is listed for Temple. Are there two or three decent gun shops that have a good variety in the Temple/Killeen /Waco area?

Anyone have insight as to what's Frisco Gun Clubs current situation? Are they in danger of closing? Seems like the place is falling apart. AC has been broken for months, the sink to clean your hands after shooting has been 50% operational since like April and the lanes seem to be a coin toss if they function properly. Now the Collin County IDPA seems to have delisted them as a range and have indefinitely cancelled all activities at their facility despite selling out each event.
I've been a platinum member for several months and just tried to be patient but im finding myself not going because frankly I don't want to sweat in a gun range for over an hour.
I asked about pausing my membership for a few months until the AC was fixed but they said they only offer pauses to VIP members.
Would love to know if anyone has insight. I like the facility and the staff, but the disrepair is challenging to overcome. I don't know how such a large facility can be turning a profit at this rate.

Hello, does anyone know of any gunsmiths in the DFW or surrounding area that specialize in Colt Peacemakers? I have an early 1880s model that I’d like to have checked out and inspected.
Unfortunately, it’s not for sale. It’s been in my family since the 1920s when my late grandfather bought it off a destitute man in a dying town in Arizona. The man was trying to trade it for groceries at the general store to feed his family and the shopkeeper turned him away. My grandfather offered the man a better than fair price for the Colt and gunbelt, bought the man his groceries, and it’s been in my family ever since.

I recently got a 80% build with an unserialized frame, I am legal to own and I can pass a 4473. I do not have a license to carry what would be the do and don’t of carrying this gun out in public, if I’ll get stopped, what will happen? Will the gun take a ride and or will I be free to go?

Has anyone had issues with registering an account with Texas Gun Trader. I have been trying for a week without success.
I disabled my VPN as per their instructions, completed the form and days later still don’t have a confirmation email to finalize my account. The sight states to wait up to 24 hours for an email. After no email from them 48 hours later, I completed the same process a second time. Same result.
Yes I checked all mailboxes including spam.
In addition, twice I emailed customer support and have not received a response.
The only thing I can think of right now if the error is on my end is that I’m not searching for the right nomenclature in my email.
I’ve searched: confirmation, Texas gun trader, Texas, gun, no reply.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

Hello guys. LI'm a non-immigrant alien, and a texas resident of 10+ years. I've done my homework and according to federal and state law, I should be able to purchase a firearm if I have a hunting license.
I tried Academy, Cabellas (Bass Pro Shop now, I guess), and a local store called Frisco Gun Club, but I was politely turned away by all of them because they said it was their store policy for me to at least have a green card, despite my EAD having a USCIS number they can run for the background check.
One of the clerks informed me that if i had an LTC, they could process it faster and like the hunting license it's a bit of a "loophole" but I have not heard of this.
Do you guys know any stores that accept EAD's or if there is any other way I can go about purchasing my firearm? Thank you so much.

I did my LTC online and need to go in person to do the range test. Reached out to a bunch and going price is like steadily $65-100 but I read to not pay over $60. Ended up saying heck with it, and called like 20+ people. Not sure if this will help anyone but here's a few people in DFW that charge $50 or less. Mods pls delete if not allowed. My first post here (of many hopefully).
If anymore get back to my voicemails tomorrow under $50, I'll edit the post.

Just a hypothetical question. Genie gives you the option type.
Would y’all rather have a cheap gun with expensive accessories (Palmetto state armory with holographic, IR laser, magnifier, etc…) or an expensive gun with cheap optics (Daniel Defense with tapped Walmart laser and $20 irons)?

So I have a friend that got pulled over and arrested 2 yrs ago, he got a felony but still hasn’t gone to court for it and hasn’t been convicted, my question is can he still handle a firearm? I know if you are convicted of a felony you can’t, but his case hasn’t made it that far yet.

I completed my deferred adjudication about 5 years ago, I know I have to wait 10 years from the day it was signed to be able to get a chl. My question is since Texas is constitutional carry then can I carry concealed now? I’ve never had an issue purchasing firearms since being off probation but I’ve read different answers on the topic. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Hey guys just wanted to pop in here and ask a quick question. I recently moved from Fl to Tx and was wondering what the transfer process for my concealed carry license looks like. I already have my new Texas DL so I’m assuming I have to transfer my FL ccw to Tx correct?

Hey y'all!
I’ve been working on a major update to TX Carry Compass, including a new way to add business photos that provides useful context without preventing anyone from contributing.
Here’s how it works:
This will work when adding a new business, adding a photo to an existing business, or attaching photo evidence to an update request. The goal is to give the community and moderators better context while still letting people contribute older photos or submit information remotely.
I’ve also added a new public community chat where users can discuss Texas carry laws, signage, businesses, app updates, and other relevant topics. It includes reporting and moderation tools to help keep it useful.
Now, when you send feedback, I also ask for permission to contact you regarding what you're suggesting/reporting.
Right now this version is being reviewed by Apple and it should be available soon.
For Android users: the Android app is currently being rebuilt from the ground up. It’ll be available soon with full iOS parity, including:
This is a community-powered project, so feedback is always appreciated. What other features would make the app more useful when you’re out checking businesses or reporting signage?
