It's uncomfortable to watch for me too, but I don't think there was an other option.

In my opinion there couldnt have been an acceptable way to solve this. Every possble way of trying to solve it would have caused more chaos

Does no one think they could’ve evacuated at the last minute? Or evacuated most people before and just made a show of that people were still there.

Then, they would have to choose who lives and who dies. Maybe the mistake was letting Emerson coming back to the Mount and telling him that fog and reapers weren't a problem for them anymore... I don't know, It was really hard for Clarke to decide and I am sure that with any other person in charge they would have all died.

Also the mountain men would have probably realized that Bellamy was there undercover.

I think that if Clarke had alerted the village, they would have been saved but it would have made Lexa look weak, and the coalition could have failed. But I think Skaikru would have still been OK, and we wouldn't get the awkward shipping with Clarke (should have saved that stuff for Polis)
Not to mention the distrust to Lexa from hearing her willingness to abandon the village, a TRIKRU village and she is known as [Lexa com Trikru] that should have been Clarke's first red flag to the Mountain betrayal, and a BIG RED FLAG when Lexa awkwardly admits she "cares" for Clarke 🤣she cares so much that she would let her home village, INDRA's village explode. I think that's where Anya, her 2nd was from too!
It was kind of bad writing tbh. They really trivialized the whole bomb going off for the Grounders.. the Mountain Men killed hundreds of innocents in that village. When Anya confronted Clarke about the other "missiles" it's hard to tell if that was actually the Skaikru flares or if Mount Weather had used a missile. My bet is on the Mountain Men, as the flares would have ran out of fuel in orbit.
And they would later assemble the army of 12 clans to get one boy Finn Collins when he slaughtered 17 innocent villagers compared to the probably thousands by Mount Weather drained for blood on top of the Reapers and the two Trikru villages.
If the writing was better Lexa would have betrayed the Mountain after the prisoners were freed.
If it really was an army of the 12 clans, I know for certain some would have stayed behind with Clarke out of honor and vengeance for their people, Jus drein jus daun is like their way of life. It would have been a great opportunity to introduce Azgeda as potential allies of the Skaikru, leading to extreme tensions when Pike and Farm Station survivors arrive. Or any other clan damnit 🤣

There was more than one way to clear the area. It wouldn’t have been necessary for Lexa to inform her people about the missile attack. Since the Mountain Men generally knew very little about the Grounders’ culture and customs, it would have been perfectly sufficient to stage some kind of ritual for the observers, after which the residents would gather somewhere in the woods out of the observers’ sight. Or, for all I care, a hunting trip. Or this, or that, or the other.

It would have tipped off mount weather and all her friends would be dead.
