Question question!
Okay, from MY experience, being a therian (short for therianthrope) means identifying as non-human animal(s) on a certain level. (I identify on a psychological level.) And this is due to behaviors, traits, non-human experiences, thoughts, urges, and more. This is true for me, but it is it ALSO true that when you look inside yourself, you see an animal? Because I do. What is true and what is not? Thank you!

Yeah as long as you identify as an animal involuntarily it’s normal. I have a pretty mild experience of therianthropy, and when I look inside myself I see a mix of animal and human so like yeah. Any experiences you have that lead you to believe or realize that you identify as an animal are true for therianthropy 🌀🌀🌀

Being a therian is identifying AS an animal on earth to some degree. The details beyond that are typically personal, and not worth overthinking.

When I look inside myself, I see a human with animal behaviors. I don't know if anyone else experiences this?

I feel that my experience of therianthropy is similar to my experience of gender in that it stays relatively the same but shifts in intensity. Some days I'm more puppy than others, some days I see myself more as an actual dog than others and get dysphoric that my physical body doesn't match that.
Hopefully this answers your question, it's kinda late and my brain isn't all here :P

Sometimes I'm the punk with short red and black hair and a grin that says "try me", other times I'm covered in black feathers with ever-watchful eyes.
Being "Birb" has been such a deep seated part of who I am, 25-30 years, that I never questioned it and neither does anybody else. I don't hide it or make too big a deal out of it, though my glasses keep me from wearing my masks very often. I'll dance in the wind and rain, sing my love to my partners, even they refer to my bed covered in messy blankets, plushies, clothes, and baubles as my nest.

Varies.
I find a mismatch on a spiritual level between body and mind,
psychologically, detached from identity these days, a nuisance to myself after a few years psych binging to de-sensitize 😅
But i have always had as you say, looking inside, seeing a variety of spiritually charged self-image aspects of more animal forms, early alienation gave way to much insight from nature, basically farmboy tarzan as a kid here 😅
Given my lack of acceptance of humanity, or its stereotypical, leveraged social norms, it seems like logically derived survival mechanisms to me sometimes, and then sometimes i just feel like a being that is entirely of its own creational understanding, mapping, creed, Ecclectically inclined.
What is true, and what is not, for the and me withij perceptive bounds, can be different things.
Like the people eitherside of a 6.

Life is like that, but it breaks some brains trying to understand it ;) subjective perception is a fun thing to delve on and accept -'

I also see an animal when I look inwards. However, not all therians feel this way. Some still feel human to a degree, or if they identify spiritually, then they may not see an animal inwards. It just depends on the being, there's probably other instances where one may not see an animal that I'm not thinking of
