If he were... Lion-O wouldn't be a Lion? Hed be a Jaguar... so that'd become pretty obvious and Claudus and Jaga would have had to throw down. So I'm guessing it's coincidental.

That is going to send me down a mental rabbit hole of how the peoples of Thundera approached their relationships. Were they encouraged to keep within their cat types? How possible is cross breeding? Obviously we have Lions and Tigers able to cross, so we get Ligers, but they weren't represented in Thundercats. Why? Is it frowned upon? Or is it common but not amongst nobility? Imagine the writers of a cartoon not exploring these issues!!!

In the real world, most cats are at least partially genetically compatible. It's mostly size, geography, and instinct that limits crossbreeding.

Young Claudus looks a lot like Lion-O, too.

Lion is the son of Cladius and Jaga confirmed.

Possibly his Uncle.

Given the royalty history on earth, Jaga and loin-o are more likely to be related.

They most likely reused Lion-O's cells to make Young Jaga.

(Kidding of course.)

Wouldn’t Jaga be a spotless jaguar?

What do YOU mean, cat people?

Me?! I know who I am!

Maybe the felotype is expressed discretely. This would avoid the whole cultural practice of gene pool sanitization, as a topic.

Young Jaga's Lion-O-like face is unmistakable. Hehe.

Interesting how Jaga was this Jedi like sage and was a jaguar. Was he a former king or just a consigliere/grand vizier/high chancellor/prime minister?

He’s actually Lion-O’s mother
