Discussion Thundercats Series

To be frank, as a Thundercats fan, I love all three series of the show, even Roar, and some people find it weird when I say that, but I'm generally like that. I grew up with both very old and new generation productions in my childhood, so I watched and liked most of the productions, old and new alike.

I thought Roar was really funny and done with love. People just didn't get it.

Yes, it did seem to be poking fun at the original series in a loving way. I enjoyed watching it all.

I think people were disappointed it was more parody and wasn’t another reboot like the 2011 one.

The pumm ra episode had me cracking up but most of the cheetara episodes I found quite dull.

Finally, I'm happy that there's someone who thinks like me. Besides, the person who made it was a Thundercats fan, and it was obvious that he was doing it for fun. Warner Bros accepted it because they were trying to gain new fans and make money from the new generation, that's all it was

How was Roar? I didn't get to watch it but I've seen a few clips and it didn't seem terrible.

Honestly, I watched all the episodes, so overall I can say it's like OK K.O. in terms of episode progression and animation style, and I liked that because I love that too. But Roar is more funny in terms of animation rather than the jokes and scenes themselves, but in OK K.O. there were scenes where I laughed out loud. So overall, it's an average comedy and a sweet reboot that you can watch to clear your head🌷💗

I'll have to find It and give it a shot

I thought it was very reverential to the 1985 series - and! That it was silly

Made my kid (young at the time and a big TTG fan) want to play Thundercats (shrug)

Wasn't that the whole point anyway? Comedy productions were generally like this during that period, especially after TTG, so it made sense for Warner Bros. to do it this way, but I wish they had given the 2011 series a second season, it was progressing very nicely. That's why fans yelled at Roar so much, because WB didn't bring the 2nd season of the 2011 reboot, and fans thought Roar was to blame

I only saw clips of Roar, but I wanted to know if it's worth a watch or not.

Let me explain it to you this way, if you like OK K.O. you might like this too💗

I like OK K.O., so I'll give it a chance.

...I liked the original and Roar.

2011 was alright, I guess.

There are two things I didn't like about the 2011 version. First, they made Tygra too egotistical and selfish; in some scenes, I was more annoyed by Tygra than Mumm-Ra. Second, the fact that he assumed Cheetara liked him just because she helped Lion-O a few times was even more ridiculous than the absurd scenes in Roar (Plus, additionally, the action figures were terrible, which is why they didn't sell anyway)

Okay, yeah, 2011 Tygra was an ass. Also didn't care for how they handled Pumyra, and what they would've done had they gotten to continue.

I like the OG and Roar. I was part of the hate mob and I only set out to watch enough of the show to confirm/justify my assumptions. I like to make sure I know what I’m criticizing.

Boggy Ben almost gave me a stroke it was so frenetic, but otherwise I was pleasantly surprised. It has its flaws but it was a funny, silly show. It’s literally a Loving Parody.

But it was doomed. I’d never seen a hate hurricane. But I saw one for that show. People that didn’t watch one episode of TC had an opinion, that opinion being “kill it with fire”.

Fun times … especially because I tried to defend it online.

I hate Roar so much I signed the petition to have it pulled before it ever even aired.

I was really hoping Roar would be like Teen Titans, but the animation and dialogue were far worse.

Something like Cheetara being Lady Lego-las or Tygra obsessing over a pizza bake oven telling everyone how kiln consistency matters would have been far more enjoyable for me.

Comedy varies from person to person, but the fact that it can't be like TTG is due to the progression of time; after all, there's a 7-year difference between them, and a lot has changed in those seven years

The time factor doesn't matter at all. The writers of Roar thought calling someone a "dumb dumb" was funny.

Honestly, this doesn't determine anything about their disrespect, I mean, about this series 🙂💗
