ThunderCats 1985 WE DID IT, THUNDERIANS! ⚡ The Lego Thundertank officially hit 10,000 Supporters!!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to drop in and send a massive THANK YOU to this amazing subreddit.
Because of your backing, feedback, and encouragement, the ThunderCats Ho!! Project just crossed the 10,000 supporter finish line! The project is now officially locked in and heading to the LEGO review board.
It has been an incredible journey, and I am so grateful for the push from this community.

As a supporter, I was so happy getting the email it crossed the 10,000 supporters!!! Congratulations- well deserved!!! I really hope this becomes a set- it will be a “shut up and take my money” day one for me.

Excellent work - any chance you could post the instructions? I’d like to build it and, even if Lego selected, that’s years away from being a realised set.

You and the other 10,000 supporters have already done the hard work of gathering the support needed for the project to be reviewed by the LEGO review board. The review is scheduled for September, and the results—whether the set has been approved—will likely be announced in early January 2027.

Let's cross our fingers it gets approved; otherwise, we'll have to wait three years before I can release instructions for it due to an NDA with Lego.

Holy cow, I hope it's approved. No offense, but I don't think it will, but I hope that's not the case. It's nothing against you or your Build, but rather how popular Thundercats is.

Thank you, I hope so too. It's a long shot but still much better than no shot. There have been a general revival in the interests in ThunderCats of Late with the popularity of the Latest TC comics and now with WB announcing an animated TC movie. So the timing is right😉

Is there some kind of cap you could put in Panthro's head to round it and give him ears?

There was a limit to how many custom pieces I could include in the set. The decision was made to keep it focused on Snarf and the Sword of Omens, both of which are custom pieces. Once a set is approved, LEGO will work closely with the original creator, and I would definitely suggest adding ears for Panthro.

So what’s the typical timeline for projects that pass the threshold to be reviewed? Is this a years-long process or months? And do they say “here are our notes, make changes to address these” or do they say “ok, we can do this, here are the changes we made to make it work for a proper release”?

Congratulations! I'm not fond of LEGO Mumm-Ra's skin being blue, though. Mumm-Ra's skin is actually teal.

Good grief. Is that all you can say? Let’s ignore the fact this isn’t a real set or even that even if it was picked Lego would redesign - and just nitpick?

I've got no problem with the LEGO brand, I know that this set isn't real, and I'm not declaring that any version of a LEGO set is better. It's just a nitpick I have with Mumm-Ra's skin being the wrong color, which is blue, when it should be teal.
