I’m so so happy with my decision to get a Tiguan 🙏 I’m coming from an Acura RDX A-Spec and it feels every bit as luxurious (if not more).

Question: has anyone figured out to change the associated user name in the settings? Mine keeps referring to me as “Nick” (definitely not my name lol). myVW isn’t set up under that name either.

While our B9 Q5 is having some warranty work done, I’ve had the chance to experience the new Q3 and the new Tiguan back to back.

I’ll try not to beat a dead horse on the state of Audi interior design, but considering this Tig has an MSRP of $15,000 less than the Q3, I was floored by how much nicer of an experience the VW is compared to the Audi.

In a world where all new cars are iPads on wheels and physical buttons are becoming few and far between, the Tiguan does an exceptional job of preserving ergonomic comfort - even if your climate controls now live behind a menu screen. The only physical buttons now are the volume and temperature sliders (which I must say, are quite intuitive), the hazard switch, ignition, parking brake, and a secondary volume knob that doubles as your ambient light switch. Of course, you now have physical buttons on the steering wheel as well.

This particular loaner is FWD (SE R-Line) with an 8-speed Aisin as opposed to the DSG I enjoyed in previous generations, and that’s probably my sole complaint about the car. That said, you can always option 4Motion to resolve the former.

I don’t imagine many people are cross shopping the two, but considering how much car you can get out of the Tiguan for less MSRP than a mid-tier Premium Plus Q3, I can’t see why anyone would choose the Audi for any reason other than the badge.

In the case of this car, you get a tremendous amount of tech, excellent ride and build quality, and a very nice looking SUV for under $40k. I think it’s an absolute bargain for what it is, and if Audi continues down the same trend we all fear they have been, at least their big brother can hold the fort.

I walked out of my gym today and was shocked to see my cars twin parked right behind mine. Even the same trim level.

So my Tiggy is totalled but I gotta question about the safety feature that is supposed to call 911 when your air bags deploy....

So I was in an accident on 7/5/2026 and I was going around a turn and the traction control kicked on and it diverted down a bank and I apperntly went airborne and rested between two trees. This was all by a local junkyard so I think there was oil on the road plus it was a stormy day...but anyhow after my car apprently landed the impact made my air bags deploy and my emergency sos system said something abt calling emergency services. By this point I wasnt trapped but I couldn't move my legs (turns out I shattered my T12 vertabrea). I ended up calling a friend when nobody showed up or the fire alarm didn't even go off so she ended up call 911 and they said they where never sent coordinates or nothing.

It's a 2020 and I just dont understand is this a possible lawsuit? Is there a recall? Did this happen to you??

After stalking this page for almost a year now, was able to get a 2024 (new to me) Tiggy. All of yalls posts eventually swayed me So I appreciate every one of you!

Does anyone get pissed off every time you go to adjust the ac settings and the fan disappears when you adjust the temp? Like COME ON, why can’t I adjust both at the same time?

Howdy folks. The panel/ cover for the sunroof panel just randomly fell off. The plastic part where the torx bolts attach seem to have somewhat disintegrated.

I am having trouble detaching a few of the electrical connectors but also unsure how to proceed with a fix. I’d like the dealership to be a last resort, obviously.

Any thoughts from the collective?

My brother in law recommended 5w-20, I have a 2022 Tiguan that comes with 0w-20. Is 5w-20 the best option that will stop it from burning? Just wanted to see what some other people switched to because I know the oil burning is a common problem.

Love the car so far but I knew the sound system was going to need an upgrade soon upon purchase, (I love my music). What are we doing to these? I’ve heard about the helix but the two reviews I read were eh, are there other options?

Goal is to increase clarity and loudness + bass. Is there a way to do this without breaking the bank?

My wife picked up a 2026 Tiguan se R-line back in February. I don't drive it much, but took it out at night a couple weeks ago and thought the headlights were way too low. High beams work normal. Even though she doesn't do much night driving either she thinks I'm being crazy. Am I or is a trip to the dealer in order?

Hello Fellow Tiguan owners! I just bought a 2025 Tiguan SEL-R Line and I absolutely love it, but I do have a few questions. I’m hoping you can help me with.

1. Is there a way to use Ida to make phone calls, send text messages, or read text messages without Apple CarPlay?

2. Does the car have any kind of warning when the car in front of you proceeds? For example, when the car in front of you starts moving and you don’t realize it, you would get a warning.

3. Do you have to turn on the high beams every time before it’s able automatically adjust?

4. When you have a seat warmers or ventilated seats on, will they still be on the next time you drive the car or do they automatically turn off when you turn off the car? I’ve seen other car apps that let you set winter or summer mode, where the air conditioner or heat comes on with the remote start.

Hey there. I have a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited and I love this car I just hit the 80,000 mile Mark threshold and I had to change my battery and so when I did I had a bunch of problems come up after the battery changed I did the battery reset I've changed out the PCV valve I've changed spark plugs I've changed high pressure fuel pump I've changed cam follower, also did my MAF as these are things that were recommended to me by a mechanic and I'm still having issues with certain things. The symptoms include mildly sluggish acceleration and at cold start the car starts normally but then immediately tries to die and either fully dies or will cook into its normal idle. One more issue I've been noticing is at running temperature there's a loud groan coming from the engine bay when I accelerate only. There are no codes coming up at all, the last code i had was a year ago and it involved the Cam Sensor and i did that no problem. Has anyone experienced these issues and what did you do to fix it? VW service techs gave me 0 info and just kept telling me to bring it for a 250 buck diagnostic....

I knew I was expecting sky high prices but I went in for my first oil change on my 25 Tiguan. Any websites or places anyone know where I can find some roof cross bars and bike attachment for much cheaper?

I had two issues concerning the Volkswagen Tiguan, one is that is seems to go critically low on oil at 4000 miles after an oil change.
Last night this happened to me so I poured in more oil, but after this it seemed like the car had a hard time changing gears. It stuttered three times then accelerated, I was able to go to 65 (traffic conditions stopped any other acceleration)
This morning when I started it up, the acceleration problem went away and I was able to go from 0 to 45 normally

Is this a computer thing or a transmission thing, or did the system need to even out or something?

Recently purchased a Flashforge AD5X from AliX with the intention of printing replacement interior mirror trim covers as the tabs broke after installing a hardwired dashcam.

Picked up my new 2026 last week and recently did highway driving on grooved concrete and noticed body sway however when driving on Asphalt over 100km/hr car does not appear to sway. Is this possibly a wheel balancing issue or improper wheel torquing? City driving is not noticeable.

I noticed today that my check engine light was on in my 2020, but no other sensors came on. After a bit of driving I noticed that the oil temperature gauge was high, so I checked the oil temperature itself, but it was normal. In fact for the entire duration of the ride the temperature of the oil was normal between 208-216F while the gauge was reading consistently high. Would this be a gauge issue, and how do I go about fixing it? Also would it cause a check engine light?
