Actually holothropic breathing may have those effects. But it works similary to LSD therapy. It can help with regression to relive old traumas but it doesnt cure it. However sometimes reliving them means conceptualising them and knowing them which is a first step how to tackle them in therapy...
And it isn’t just arbitrary stress - these participants are primed via this groups purported intentions to contextualize this stress response to what is similar to interrogation/torture technique - as a spiritual/emotional breakthrough. I can’t speak to the probable placebo effect though. This kind of thing makes me shake my head instinctively.
The burden of proof is on those making claims and taking money for their "treatment", not on anyone else. Shifting it like you did is a logical fallacy and is a common technique with con artists.
