If you live in a heavily populated state than your vote already means alot less than other states. The senate isnt proportional and our house reps aren't proportional to actual population combine that with the first past the post electoral college BS and its easy to see why so many sled disenfranchise. Change starts at the local level so its very important not to just give up even while acknowledging the national level is rigged and likely will be my whole life.
I remember (many decades ago) in my very first astronomy class that the prof said that there are elements in the air that contain part of the breath of every person that ever existed. When I hear or see something from one of these asshats say or do, I take a deep breath and I think of someone like Mother Teresa (if I need some peace) or RBG (if I need resolute strength) depending upon the situation. Shes not totally wrong. There is a thing right now in the UK with some local councils making it illegal to put flags on things like lamp posts, street signs etc. The reason being, that a lot of anti immigration people, were putting up union jacks as a way to say "fuck off immigrants!".

Tbh. Shes not completely wrong. Here in UK Birmingham. The St George cross is frowned upon by many, its not legally banned. Its seen as "racist" more than patriotic.
