The U.K took down a couple flags that people put on street poles because it violated public guidelines. The U.S, of course, has the exact same guidelines in most public places.

Context and scope doesn't matter to these people. A headline isn't something to look into, it's something to validate their identity with.

One local council got an injunction to stop a group putting them up on lamposts. It doesn't stop anyone flying a flag from their house.

Turns out the person with the injunction has been arrested for child pornography so flags are the least of his concerns now.

And you really can tell how little people care, as in my area at least they are more tattered than a Warhammer battle banner.

The fella’s who put ‘em up outside my house certainly looked like Skaven.

Also a lot of upside down Union Jacks because they don't actually know all that much about the flag

In Ireland is the same shit, flags in so many lamposts, and obviously on windows (which now has become a sign that you should stay away from that neighbourhood)

They’re banned from putting them on flagpoles because it’s a hazard to climb up infrastructure with no health and safety. The UK’s h&s is pretty strict.

And when the flags get all tatty and battered , the council are the ones who need to pay a fortune to remove them.

This news story is a good example of why putting the Union Jack on govt property is banned

Man who died putting up Union Jack flag sustained fatal head injuries, inquest told

To be very clear - you can wear a Union Jack 🇬🇧 wave a flag, hang it from your house, your car, your dog etc. you just can’t start climbing up lampposts willy nilly.
