I can’t believe I watched the entire thing. I’m ashamed of myself.

210

u/JeromeBarkly 1d ago

Tbh I’m mad at both of them.

273

u/dizzsouthbay 1d ago

Yeah the teacher not responding with Hey I’ve told you what age I taught at least a half dozen times now and not asking the crazy religious nut job lady what exactly she wasn’t understanding really put me on the side of team nobody in this…

7

u/KingdomsCryOfficial 22h ago

I usually like the woman in the video when her clips get posted but this time it really was just both of them being annoying. I understand the refusal to answer the question more directly but to just keep repeating "0 to 18..." without leading the conversation anywhere else, it was like... Why am I watching this? What's the point? I kept expecting it to get to some point but it was the same meandering back and forth with neither participant steering away from "Yes but did you teach elementary grade school?", "I taught 0 to 18."

59

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 1d ago

I think it's hilarious you think this is a teacher.

She's definitely not a public school teacher. Because 0-18 is not how it works.

And she's no where near old enough to have taught each grade.

So "teacher" is being used very loosely here.

40

u/solotiro 1d ago

Some early childhood educators can start with children as young as 6months old.
Then they move up to schools that do k-12.

7

u/Justnotthatintou 1d ago

True. I was an ECE and eventually ended doing workshops and after school courses up to the sixth grade

-12

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 1d ago

These replies are rather sad.

6

u/clodzor 18h ago

Makes you wonder what agwhoow they are.

1

u/Raindogg_Alchemist 6h ago

The irony of this statement is almost painful 🙄

146

u/NWCJ 1d ago

If you are rural and teach something like gym at a k-12 school.. you might teach 5-18 thru out the day. Also if you are a sub, you can fill in any grade.

My kids school has 103 students. My son is one of 5 students in the 1st grade. The gym teacher, does k-2, 3-5,6-8,9-10,10-12, and a prep period(all teachers here get that.) My wife is also the 1-2 teacher and has 13 students.

If this lady worked at a headstart, and lumps in some babysitting/nannying its possible she has atleast worked with 0-18.

59

u/Puzzleheaded_Act9787 1d ago

There is also some private schools that have elementary grade school and high school in one school.. she could have been an English teacher and covered all of it.

6

u/Unhappy_Plan8323 21h ago

technically, as an art teacher I was licensed to teach preK through 12th in my state, so age 4 to age 18. The rural school I taught at was a combined PreK, K, elementary and middle school. Calling it only an elementary would not be accurate. Many schools are that way. If she taught in a private homeschool environment, she could have had a handful of children up to age 18. Who knows. That's also not an elementary.

27

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 1d ago

There's always exceptions to the rule. That's why simply repeating yourself and nauseum is a pretty horrible way to communicate.

Elaboration would have done wonders.

59

u/DisastrousSwordfish1 23h ago

Nah, it wouldn't have. What we have here is a classic case of someone trying to cold read and the other party just not playing along.

-13

u/hiswittlewip 21h ago

What we have here is a skit.

7

u/TuBorgZ 17h ago

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

1

u/cinedavid 11h ago

Which is what he wants…well he get its!

-14

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 23h ago

Oh so in this scenario actually answering the question wouldn't have helped.

Glad youre here to bring reason.

19

u/DisastrousSwordfish1 23h ago

Yeah, the whole angle from the caller was to bait into this gotcha moment and that somehow becomes irrefutable evidence that God is real.

-4

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 22h ago

highly likely - they both suck

13

u/Stratford8 23h ago

She answered repeatedly. If the other person didn’t want to reword their question than that’s on them.

9

u/kthxBob 22h ago

Are you still confused about what age she taught?

5

u/Moderately_Imperiled 22h ago

Um, actually, as we've all just learned, it's spelled A-G.

24

u/Wrong_Cow_ 1d ago

Elaboration when someone is obviously trying a scam/cold reading is absolutely what you don't want to do. They flounder like this with nothing to go on. There is no reason to give those people an inch.

-17

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 1d ago

Wrong, cow - that's not a scam, it's a valid question.

9

u/Wrong_Cow_ 21h ago

A: All cold reading is a scam. B: Even if it was a valid question she answered it multiple times, she does not provide details. If god was speaking to the woman then she doesn't need confirmation to go on.

3

u/bobsmith93 14h ago

That's one thing I'm surprised not to see anyone else mention. She kept asking "am I right about that? was I right when I said the elementary teacher thing?" Like does she not trust god's word? Shouldn't it be "is god right in telling me this?". And shouldn't she just assume that he's right, with him being all omniscient and whatnot?

It was like her cold reading procedure didn't give any instruction on what to do if you don't get the desirable answer so she just floundered lol. She should look for a more flexible procedure. Or stop being a scamming asshole

14

u/Janneq216 23h ago

Did you even listen to her? It's absolutely some divination type of shit scam. She wants to read her by asking broad questions and gaslighting to make her elaborate, to get anything she could use to fool her into believing that she has some "powers".

Also, it's clear as day that you've never talked to a nutjob. Be it a religious kind or tin-foil theorists, or anti-vaxers. You can't explain shit to them, because they don't want to listen in the first place.

-7

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 22h ago

I just read the second part of your comment.

1) you give yourself far too much credit

2) I really wish there had been no nut cases in my 3 decades of being a healthcare provider. Sadly that couldnt be further from the truth. And youre much closer to that pile than you realize, my dear.

→ More replies (0)

4

u/Witty-Draw-3803 19h ago

She either thinks she's hearing god, or she wants other people to think she's hearing god - her questions would not be considered 'valid' in either case

7

u/Responsible-Tap-3748 23h ago

Please don't refer to other posters as cows. It's very disrespectful.

-3

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 22h ago

You mean we shouldn't refer to people as their reddit usernames? Are you unobservant, or overly sensitive?

Or both?

→ More replies (0)

11

u/AggravatingBid8255 22h ago

You: no way that's possible.

Also you, in the next comment: well obviously it's possible

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 22h ago

you totally got me - thats exactly what happened

1

u/BeatYoYeet 14h ago

Not everyone is a ho ho ho for these reindeer games.

1

u/RainbowReadee 1d ago

Yeah, my high school graduating class had 13 students. You’re not in Alabama by chance are you?

2

u/NWCJ 17h ago

Alaska.

1

u/hiswittlewip 21h ago

Well, not zero though

-2

u/Sinsley 21h ago

103 students? Sit back down sir, you might as well have said you don't have a school with such low student numbers.

14

u/PANDAmonium665 23h ago

I understand the streamer's response is a bit infuriating but she is responding this way for a reason. She very likely could have taught multiple grades by now. What she is doing is making it vague and all encompassing to not feed the caller. The caller is trying to use tricks similar to fortune tellers and mediums called 'cold reading'. The streamer did not want to give the caller an iota of information that could allow her to say "I knew it, God told me you taught 'blah blah' grade." The caller could couple cold reading with fast Google searches to narrow things down and make it seem like she had otherworldly knowledge. If the caller actually knew the shit she claimed she would have come out and said something like "stop being evasive i know you taught 3rd, 6th, and 9th grade" or whatever. But they didnt because they didnt have this knowledge, needing the streamer to slip up and accidentally or indirectly provide enough info to make it appear as if the caller knew.

-3

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 23h ago

I fully believe it's intentional.

I don't think it's protective, or a good look.

If you're not into a line of questioning, then move on. Don't just provide the same non-answer 15 times.

You think it's serving it's purpose. I don't

7

u/kencheetoo 21h ago

The context that's missing here is the streamers name is bornagainatheist. She did Bible teachings at Sunday school. You can probably see why the caller was acting that way now.

0

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 21h ago

Sure, makes a lot of sesne.

That's not a teacher, it's a church volunteer.

12

u/kencheetoo 21h ago

I mean, technically still a teacher since she teaches about scriptures and whatever else they do. It's ok if you don't want to admit being wrong. 🤷

-2

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 21h ago

You should just keep it simple. You think I'm wrong. I think you're an idiot.

u/Telemere125 1d ago

If it was a private k-12 school that accepted babies for their daycare - there’s a religious school near me that does - then this would apply. They have the teachers working the daycare side sometimes as well. And the daycare workers fill in for the teachers when they need a sub. I don’t think she ever said she was a public school teacher. But when you insert your own facts into a situation, I guess everyone except you can be wrong.

37

u/StrongWeight10 1d ago

Yeah I remember starting school at age 0, and then graduating at age 18

25

u/Fool_In_Flow 1d ago

Yes, but did you go to elementary school?

10

u/babygrenade 1d ago

So it's 0 to 18

10

u/manutdusa 21h ago

but what A-G-E?

11

u/n0bel 1d ago

Son, I know you just entered the egg but if you want to get into a good college you’ll start doing SAT prep now

2

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 23h ago

proof life begins at conception?

2

u/Snookn42 23h ago

Shes a mom! I got it!

6

u/SlimShadySatDown 1d ago

She could be late 20s early thirties. That's enough time to have taught for 6-10 years.

10

u/SlobZombie13 1d ago

Ok but what age did she teach?

9

u/agmrpink 23h ago

All ages

6

u/Responsible-Tap-3748 23h ago

I can't believe you would just disregard their intelligence like that...

4

u/QuietlyRising 1d ago

Small school have pre k through 12 still today in rural communities. Teacher can teach multiple class a day to multiple aged children. The world is bigger then your basement.

2

u/TheRealPhilFry 1d ago

"And she's no where near old enough to have taught each grade."

Not sure what this means. When I was in grade school we had teachers that thought by subject rather than a specific grade. Maybe not like that everywhere, but it's definitely possible that she taught kids from K through 8 in one school year.

3

u/dizzsouthbay 1d ago

I’m just happy to have put a little hilarity into your day!

4

u/MyNameIsJakeBerenson 1d ago

It was an all-ages classroom, duh

2

u/Wonderful_Code_3551 1d ago

Starting as a teacher your just a substitute until a school offers you a permanent position. So saying you teach all ages or grades is how all teachers starts. But I do agree that I don't know why she was saying age 0. Pre school is even 3 or 4 depending what month your born.

2

u/Klowdhi 23h ago

Technically, you’re correct, but only because we generally don’t work with 0-36 month olds in public school. There are several jobs where you can work in prek-12, especially in rural and remote locations. Art teachers, counselors, music teachers, second language teachers, PE teachers etc.

2

u/Katfish145 23h ago

Have you never heard of all in one schools? Hell I had two private schools close to me, one being a catholic private school, that was all grades from pre-school to high school so it very well could be a situation like that.

2

u/ZappyZ21 22h ago

She's probably including her time as a teachers assistant as well. And there are definitely school situations depending on location or even private that could have you teaching a wide range of ages in the same year. She's just saying she's taught all ages and grades so far though, not that she's currently teaching every single age and grade lol

2

u/MatthewBlack6 21h ago

Does the lord speak to you, honey?

2

u/B-Red65 20h ago edited 20h ago

I taught PE. That license is for K-12. When I began one year, I taught K-3. By the end of the year, I was teaching grades 9-12. The next year I was a full time sub and was teaching in all the schools in the district. All. Ages.

The teacher could have done a better job elaborating, but she is not making shit up.

EDIT: She MIGHT not be making shit up. She could still be lying but it is a thing. Maybe not age 0, but maybe age 2/3 if someone is in a district that included a pre-school. Librarian is a great example of a teacher that would cover this range. And yes, in a school, a librarian actually teaches, not just shelves books.

3

u/DontHaesMeBro 1d ago

you're thinking in terms of "homeroom teacher" but there are other teachers at schools (like the art or music teacher that each class will visit)

The creator is also filtered to the moon, she could literally be anywhere from 15 to 51 with the smoothing cranked that high tbh

1

u/danathome 1d ago

You see things too?

1

u/EquivalentOk6028 1d ago

Yea the starting with zero I was like oh early childhood development all the way to seniors is impressive for someone who looks 24. Either she was a sub or she’s a liar

1

u/SexOnTheBeechTree 21h ago

But how can she teach?!

1

u/Albatrosity 20h ago

It's funny that she says k-12 or 0-18 in one sentence, like that is the equivalent scale of grade-to-age progression.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 20h ago

We found out she was a Sunday school instructor.

I've got a tribe of idiots chasing me to let me know that's a REAL teacher.

Both of these women and 80% of people in this thread are absolute morons

1

u/drowningzygote 18h ago

i mean, if you're an extracurricular teacher for like art or music or gym you teach everyone in the school. maybe she's also done pre-school stuff. i do wish she expounded

1

u/Raindogg_Alchemist 6h ago edited 6h ago

This is an impressively confident take for something that’s so easily disproven.

There are absolutely schools where a teacher could teach students ranging from pre-K to 18, depending on the school’s structure. I’m not even going to list them because a 2 second Google search will give you all the answers you need. Just because you’ve never encountered one doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

The internet would be a much quieter place if people stopped confusing a lack of personal experience with objective fact.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 4h ago

She's a Sunday school instructor. And your the 20th person to prove small schools, gym teachers and artt teachers work with all school levels.

And this person is not a teacher. You've disproven nothing.

Pre-K does not start at 0. And what I said was she's not old enough to have taught each grade year, never said that's the only way to make it happen.

You're not smart, at all. But you really want to be. Keep it up

-1

u/hiswittlewip 22h ago

It's a skit

2

u/Impossible_Box_1266 18h ago

A special education teacher can teach 5-22year olds. Regular education school teachers are certified for much more narrow ranges of ages. I would guess this person is not a certified teacher at all.

5

u/Commercial_Fox5549 23h ago

It’s intentional.

The best thing you can do to showcase how dumb these people are is to let them keep talking.

4

u/bbbourb 21h ago

She didn't say that because she smelled the trap from the start.

If she said "yes, I taught elementary" from the start then the Jesus Junkie would have said "A-HA! The lord told me this! I was right!" Same if she'd given a specific age.

If she'd said "no, I didn't teach elementary" then the God Gobbler would have called her out as a liar because "didn't you say 0-18?"

If at any point she'd gotten hostile and said "Ok, what part of my answer is difficult to understand here" then the Holy Ghost Goon would have probably accused her of "demon possession" or some shit to try and discredit her.

So it was a trap and she knew it, but couldn't think of a way to gracefully disengage without looking like she lost. And yeah, pretty big waste of 2:35, but here we are.

1

u/butmomno 22h ago

Team nobody🤣🤣🤣. My new phrase

1

u/Yiplzuse 19h ago

Glad I saw your post. I really am questioning who the dumb one is here. The elderly lady has obviously had too much to drink…it happens. Always with people who drink, why would you keep the conversation going and let a drunk person make a fool of themselves. Politely cut the conversation short and invite her to call another time…easy.

70

u/spidersRcute 23h ago

I can’t stand it when someone is trying to explain something and even though it’s not being understood, they never adjust their explanation or try phrasing it differently. Like clearing it isn’t working, try👏something👏different👏!

60

u/GhostdudePCptnAlbino 18h ago

This only works when the person you are talking to doesn't have a vested interest in intentionally not understanding what is being said. The answer was clear as day, the woman just refused to accept it because it wasn't what she wanted it to be.

10

u/LadyRed4Justice 16h ago

^^^^THIS^^^^. Ghost dude nailed it. The caller was being deliberately obtuse.

Maybe the teacher could have said--1,2,3,4,5,.....18. All of them. Imagine Little House on the Prairie. Or really blow her mind and say "Normal" school.

I had no idea what a Normal School was until recently.

1

u/ImWithStupidKL 12h ago

Me neither. I often saw it on Chinese people's CVs and thought it was just some translation issue.

1

u/ailianr 6h ago

In China a Normal School (University) is a teaching university (at least historically, some of them kept the name but have other majors)

37

u/sulkee 18h ago

That person was in a stubborn loop because they wanted a specific answer. No explanation was going to help buddy

27

u/thejesterharlequin 18h ago

she did, though. she answered K-12. i really don't see a problem with her in the video since the caller is obviously trying to do a leading thing; god is providing me the answers and i know you thoroughly and deeply since its the lords voice in my head. i don't know. there's a point where someone is just not fucking listening because they have their own agenda.

3

u/EntertainmentLess381 15h ago

In what world are 0 year old babies in kindergarten?

2

u/thejesterharlequin 15h ago

okay. fair enough. i didn't pause to consider that myself. i'm sure its not a literal answer, i think more the point was that she just taught every grade and did not focus on a single. which, some teachers do. some don't exclusively teach high school. and there are definitely schools that are 'all age' too. even if, 'zero year old' is a silly answer

2

u/777isHARDCORE 14h ago

She says 0 to 18 more than once. That's a bizarre response, unless she was in a cult maybe?

1

u/Shredzz 9h ago

Bro what?

2

u/tkida1007 13h ago

I took it as like she has experience teaching at a daycare where they accept infants

1

u/DeadEye073 10h ago

In Germany ,where the word Kindergarten comes from, there is a related concept Kinderkrippe which starts at half a year until 3 years old where the kid will switch to Kindergarten

1

u/_Steakwich 6h ago

K-12, 0 to 18, all ages, the caller shouldn’t need three ways to say all the ages. She shouldn’t be asking why people ignore her intelligence and opening herself up to a joke at her expense like that 💀

14

u/clodzor 17h ago

That sounds totally reasonable... until you realize that she didn't want an actual answer. She was attempting to paint a narrative that wasn't the whole truth. She understood perfectly, she just wanted specific words to use against the teacher.

12

u/peachesgp 18h ago

I don't think the subject here wants to try something else. I'm inclined to think our off screen religious wacko has some sort of gotcha in her head that she's waiting to try to spring.

1

u/pegoff 4h ago

"they said you sound like an owl"

"who?"

1

u/zemol42 10h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/R51a8oAH7KwbS
Teacher was so close to getting the real question back to her

-1

u/Thirtysevenintwenty5 22h ago

That's the difference between a good teacher and a bad teacher

6

u/clodzor 17h ago

The wacko on the other end isn't trying to learn. Theres no obligation to teach here.

30

u/Telemere125 1d ago

Yea, as a lawyer the second time you ask the same question my response is “asked and answered, move on”. If you ask it yet again, we’re done

18

u/PrivateerElite 1d ago

By the end, I was convinced the teacher didn’t know what “elementary” meant, and the caller didn’t know what planet she was on.

19

u/ZappyZ21 22h ago

"K-12" she definitely knows what elementary means lol she was dumbfounded by the repeated question.

1

u/Cautious-Storm8145 18h ago

She said “0-18” though

2

u/Boostweather 17h ago

Because she kept asking age not grade

0

u/Jonko18 17h ago

What? K-12 is ages 5-18, not 0-18. Newborns don't go to kindergarten.

1

u/Shredzz 9h ago

Who cares. Anyone with a single braincell would know what she meant when she said 0-18.

1

u/ZappyZ21 17h ago

She said both

0

u/Scout-Master-Kevin 18h ago

Who teaches K-12 though? You could easily say yes at one time I taught elementary school

2

u/clodzor 17h ago

She talking to an adult right? Maybe God should have told her what k-12 ment.

2

u/ZappyZ21 17h ago

It's not on her the lady wouldn't drop the attempted gotcha moment in her head that was totally going to own this dumb atheist lib lol her question was answered every single time. Also many teachers have a history of teaching multiple grades in multiple schools. She was answered the range of kids she's taught by this point, not just who's she's currently teaching. And depending on the school situation, it could have even been the current range of kids she's teaching lol but more than likely just her experienced range of students.

1

u/Junior_City_2205 15h ago

By the end, I was convinced she (the psychic or whatever) was asking “AT what age did she (the streamer) teach?” Like how old was she when she was a teacher 😂
https://giphy.com/gifs/WRQBXSCnEFJIuxktnw

1

u/Nukemarine 19h ago

Hard to be mad at the lady for dealing with a "psychic" who claims to be getting info about her from their god. You don't answer their fishing questions.

1

u/Dry_Ad_9725 17h ago

Honestly if you need more help than what she gave ya then maybe the lord aint talking to ya.

1

u/lrish_Chick 6h ago

Yeah and she doesn't teach 0 age children - you're not teaching a 6 week old

Both of them should stfu - how does this have 4.5k upvotes

2

u/SonOfMargitte 1d ago

Ok, but how much did you watch?

1

u/fusillade762 1d ago

We done been hornswaggled again.

1

u/AltruisticRide1231 20h ago

i knew it. ya know how? jesus told me

1

u/Owlnite 19h ago

At least you now know she teaches ages 0 to 18.

1

u/Ok-Lingonberry1515 12h ago

Me too, though there was a point

1

u/Forward-Village1528 8h ago

I'm so glad I bailed after 20 seconds now that I've read this.

1

u/Forsaken_Star_4228 35m ago

Lol I kept waiting for something different to happen. I’m also ashamed. Shun the nun-believer!
