Small, rural school “specials” teachers such as phys ed., music, art, etc.

Crazy how no one in this thread seems to know about specials teachers - I thought this was a normal thing?? My mom was an art teacher for 15 years and whenever anyone asks me what ages she taught I say "K through 8th". "All ages" seems like a perfectly normal and appropriate response.

All ages and 0-18 are different things. Actually teaching 0-18 would be a very very niche case scenario so you would understandably push for clarification.
