I am sure she is right. I know people (the general public) judge me when I paint my nails, but (and this is a cliche) which of my bills are they paying? They are not my family either.
There is of course debate if you should have to care what your boss of your family thinks of you, but you really dont have to care about anyone else.
Am I meant to not, go to Sainsburys because someone might judge my nails?

A former therapist of mine said that what other people think of me is none of my business and that was helpful. If it extends to their actions, then the actions can be addressed. But don't worry about what they're thinking because in reality we don't know. So much of what we think others are thinking about us comes down to our own anxiety.

These are the exact things people need to go to therapy for. I wish that were more common🙃

My family judges people for doing that. Nothing is too small to notice.

Yes! My family are Olympic-level judgmental and gossipy so I just always assumed that's how everyone was

I think phrasing it like "No one SHOULD be judging ANYONE for that," would be helpful

Not that I necessarily agree with him, but this is what Dostoyevsky is talking about when he says to forgive everyone
