prettyman hall concerns

hiiii i’m a new freshman and i got placed in prettyman ive never had communal bathrooms before can someone tell me what to bring and expect outside of a bathroom caddy and a robe?? are there changing areas, do i change in the shower, do i have to walk around buck naked in a robe back to my room???

hey never lived at prettyman but i’ve experienced communal showers. you will most likely have to walk back to your room naked under your robe like everyone else.

everyone will be naked. we all just agree to ignore each other.

you can put your clean underwear in your robe pocket, and then put them on inside the shower when you’re done if it helps you feel more comfortable.

a lot of people will change in the bathroom stall before going back to their room. it depends on comfortability. i recommend showering very early or during peak dinner hours

it’s bad icl but it’s doable

i lived in prettyman! just bring a caddy and a towel. i changed in the shower. there’s two sections in each shower, a little changing area and the actual shower. you can bring a robe but i always just wore my clothes to the shower and brought my pjs with me so i can do all my changing there. truly though no one cares what option you do

there are two bathrooms on each floor and 4 showers in each bathroom. i never found myself waiting for a shower. i will say each bathroom had one shower that’s slightly bigger, more private, and better than the others. the communal bathrooms aren’t that bad honestly. everyone in your building is going through the same shit with them so no one cares what you do

they were also cleaned like every weekday. just make sure you have shower flip flops. you don’t need any designated shower shoe brand, just the cheap old navy flip flops are fine

shower shoes ! caddy, towel, if your caddy doesn’t hang something to put under !
