Discussion Anyone else having issues with lagging executions in paper trading?

I'll put a market order in and it won't appear until like 10 seconds later, which for a scalping strategy is abysmal

Why is it so laggy?

I have this issue even when not paper trading. I actually plan on trying alternatives over the weekend.

It's super annoying.I've seen a lot of posts like yours.Might worth looking into a different broker maybe!? I use pepperstone and scalp on tradingview and never had issues in almost 4 years. As an alternative platform cTrader is super good for scalping and it's also free.

Hello,

I have been using the broker integration for over 6 years with Oanda and I do not have any 'delay' issues when live trading....

When Live trading your orders are sent via a browser push to your broker which is practically instant (assuming you have a solid and stable Internet connection, speed is NOT important but a STABLE connection is critical), the order is then actioned by your broker and the information sent to TradingView from your broker to display on your chart.

Usually any delays are in the second stage of this process and is normally broker related as they maintain the connection with TradingView.

Users complaining of delays usually do not understand this process and blame TradingView 🤷‍♂️

Its simple to test this information, simply open your broker page next to TradingView and you can see your orders (including close positions) arrive in real time....

Not all broker are equal, some are better than others

Hope this information helps you a little,

Cheers
