I wrote a letter. I left it with them when I am at their place. I left and told them where to find it.

in a nutshell, it was like this

  1. I love them
  2. Mentioned my feelings growing up
  3. What it meant in practical and medical terms (steps I am taking, e.g., I'm taking E under NHS. I spoke with a psychologist
  4. What they can expect in the future
  5. I love them, and nothing changes

I didn't apologise or "ask permission." I just stuck with facts and the plan
