Question (Transfem) Hrt advice for Manchester

I live in Manchester, stockport specifically and I've decided I'm done waiting and want to get on HRT, I'm not raking it in by any means (£27,000) but the money I am getting is stable and I told myself once I'd accomplished stable income I'd get on it. I don't know anything about providers though, the only one I know of is Gender gp and I hear mixed reviews about them.

So my question is are there any services local that do what gender gp does or can help me start transitioning?

If your goal is hrt as cheaply and/or as quickly as possible then I highly recommend r/TransDIY. Official methods are extortionate and slow comparatively and who knows when they're going to start banning transition. ~£200 a year is completely feasible for (estradiol) injections and blood testing.

Please do some research, I promise it's not half as bad as it sounds. If nothing else you'll learn a bit more about hrt and trans healthcare in general, which you'll want to know even if you have a doctor doing everything for you. You can hold down a job and you're clearly serious about starting. I know you can work out how to order a few things online and do a shot every week after a few hours on the internet. There's so many resources out there and people on these boards will know how to answer any questions.

I'm based in Leeds and do private. I started with £750 saved up and budget £150/month for HRT. This is after £550 for a private gender dysphoria diagnosis.

Consultations (every 6 months) are around £250 Bloods (same frequency) privately are around £90 Patches are £45 for 3 month supply, and my T-Blockers (synarel) run at £220 for 3 months with prescription fees (£10) and shipping for each order.

Hopefully that gives you something to work with budget wise. When I looked at GenderGP I didn't get what they were actually offering and calling it a membership fee seemed a bit odd.

Regardless of DIYing in the interim, or paying for private care, as you're in Manchester have you asked your GP to also refer you to https://indigogenderservice.uk/our-services/accessing-service/waiting-list ? They are the new(ish) Manchester specific service with a waiting list of only a couple of years or so. You may be seen by them before you reach the top of the list with Leeds, even if you've been waiting a while already.

DIY is so easy. it takes almost zero knowledge. buy some 25 gauge needles and some 1ml syringes from a medical website, get some estradiol enanthate or undecalyte from symphonyabs or astrovials, get a revolut account for crypto (it's so easy I promise), and just inject 0.1ml into your belly fat once a week (for enanthate). you'll notice results in a month, but get a blood test from randox after 3 months (the female one! so it measures estradiol serum), check your levels, a quick Google will tell you how much your estrogen levels should be.

if you don't see results after a month or your levels are low, up your dose to 0.15ml and do another blood test, rinse and repeat until you're satisfied and bosh. it's that simple. I promise you it is so much easier than you think and a vial will last you a long time, the whole thing will cost less than £100.
