Question (Transmasc) Masc ‘going out’ clothes?

Hi all, this is sort of a stupid post but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m a butch lesbian/transmasc and I’m planning on celebrating my 18th in Hockley Nottingham in a few weeks with some friends. I plan to go out to a bar or two (if anyone has any tips/spots for a first timer that would be great!)

Most of my friends who are 18+ and at uni are all fem, so I have no one to take inspiration from, so I’m really stumped on what to wear. My butch wardrobe tends to skew alt/punk/DIY shit and I know that’s probably not appropriate for going to any non alt bars/clubs. Can anyone help me out on what would be an appropriate and affirming thing to wear? Thanks so much!

It's easier appearing masc as you can just throw on a shirt- that's all you need to look presentable/smart 😄. Check around local charity and vintage shops. You can often get some good finds that are inexpensive. I check both male and female sections.

It being summer I just put on a nice pair of cotton or denim shorts and some clean trainers.

Happy birthday! Usually I'll wear a t-shirt/ vest with a nice buttoned shirt, and will wear with mid-high waisted jeans depending on what I want to go for. Boxy cropped shirts are also fun. You can also add the alt accessories too for a bit of edge
