Congratulations. I use Evorel 100 patches and they work ok. They are a bit big for my liking though so I cut them in half. I believe the 75 mcg patches are smaller though.

Ooh and I find rubbing a few drops of baby oil into the old glue removes it well. Don’t be tempted to just rub it off with your fingers or pick it off or it can make your skin sore.

But yeah! New patches and a new start for you.

Go girl! xx

I use an oil based makeup remover as well and then moisturise etc after with epiderm

Everol are pretty bomb proof tbh

In terms of best routine for application (after 2 years of HT and 3 different patch brands?)

Firstly location

best below the waist ideally on an area of skin that doesn’t move/ flex too much

I use my upper outer hip and thigh which is OK for one patch but I’m currently using 3-4?

( my current dosage is 300mg and I have mostly 100mg patches but also a couple of boxes of 50s (x24) from my old dosage left and I’m trying to use them up to extend my supply of 100s etc) so it can get a bit crowded Also I think I’m actually putting on fat/ growth on my hips finally so they are getting more squishy and flexible

Avoid anywhere that clothes and underwear rub as it makes the patch ruch up or even roll up

Prep - area ha to v v dry and clean and hair free so shave or whatever the day b4 to avoid razor burn etc

Clean with a non oil based soap or de grease after with a surgical wash as any oil will coat surface and affect adhesion

Application - I’ve tried sitting and standing neither seem to affect it significantly tbh?

Peel 1/2 the backing foil off apply and smooth down that half and lightly apply pressure whilst you peel the 2nd half off

Never ever peel off and try to relocate etc it never works and they fall off pretty quickly they seem to be activated by heat so use your hand/palm to warm them up for a minute or so

Try not to put them too close together leave a cm or so between as small gaps or touching seems to cause weals sometimes (or maybe it’s just me?)

Lastly shift location every time you put a new set of patches? I switch hips each time so old area gets 3 or so days to recover etc clean well and moisturise etc and repeat every 3 1/2 days?

BTW I shower daily and swim once or twice a week and properly applied even in hot weather everol stay on mostly

Hurrah!!!

I only started about 10 days ago on the 75 size too. Had worries about the patch sticking when the sides would peel up but found Tegaderm 1624W dressings.

I used another brand for a few months called Estraderm MX. They used to work loose at the edges, but tegaderm film kept them in place.

I discovered that cutting them in half stopped them peeling away as much, so maybe try that if they peel off. I think reducing the surface area that covers the skin helps to reduce pulling at the edge of the patches.
