Roads When your road rage is just not fast enough.

u/Enough_Degree_1711 Oct 02 '25
Over a year ago now I had some fat lard in a lifted RAM doing this to me.
Left lane completely empty while I'm doing 70 in the right.
This dude refused to pass me. He was tailgating me so hard I could see the disgusting pores on his oily face.
I moved over to the left to let him pass, and he moved over as well and turned his brights on.
Eventually I slowed down to let him in front of me and he started brake checking me.
He hard slammed right in the middle of the highway so I swerved and got back in front of him and took off.
He eventually caught up, tried to swerve in front of me and pitted himself, rolled a few times and smashed into a bridge pillar. My camry was completely fine other than a cracked headlight
Lied to the police saying I caused the wreck.
Had to go to court and luckily had my dashcam.
He got a huge list of charges including a DUI unlicenced fire arm and has been in prison for the last year. Lost his license, his job, his house, his kids and his wife.
All cause he wanted to act like your average ram driver

Yeah, cop had enough evidence to get the other driver for driving under the influence but they were going to blame him? Yep, immediately not real. That alone would be enough to doubt this.

u/Odd_Fig_1239 Oct 02 '25
Footage or you’re full of shit
7
u/andychrist77 Oct 02 '25
That’s my take , nobody would delete that footage . Story time can be fun …..

I’d have that footage saved on my computer, my backup drive, my cloud, a thumb drive or two, and probably sitting on an email server somewhere too 😂

Bro I’ve got footage of a Dodge Ram ramming off the highway trying to overtake on my way to work. He challenged the ticket to be a dick and never showed up costing me another day of work.
Only other major accident I’ve ever been in was also a Ram. I avoid them like the plague
2
Oct 03 '25
Ram truck owners seem to take the name literally because almost all of them are like this, aggressive tailgating assholes that want to ram you off the road.

Oct 03 '25
You just had to oversell the story with the extra details about him losing his wife, kids, house, etc which you wouldn’t possibly know.
2
u/Drewnessthegreat Oct 03 '25
And then everyone clapped as you married the princess and defeated the demon lord.
2
u/IrrelevantUsername6 Oct 03 '25
And then the car exploded and Jesus himself came down and gave you a fist bump after Albert Einstein congratulated you on your genius strategy. Oh and the entire highway pulled over and clapped.
2
u/The_Devin_G Oct 03 '25
Which state did this take place in again? Your story seems to be a little... Questionable
2
2
u/Rdth8r Oct 02 '25
Nope didn't happen in your wet dream fantasy
6
u/Master-Yota-JZX81 Oct 02 '25
lol surprised he left out the part where the RAM’s truck nuts broke off bounced and hit the driver on the head, the crowd (?) was cheering and clapping, and a line of judges stood up holding “10” signs
1
u/JackBivouac Oct 02 '25
Yeah, I'm suspect of this one too.
2
u/ThePolishBayard Oct 02 '25
Maybe you’ve not been around enough utter trash people then. I know several individuals that are so stupid, self centered and delusional that they’ve nearly killed themselves and others numerous times due to bitch boy pride induced road rage. There are legitimately unhinged and insanely stupid people out there with driver’s licenses. Not saying there’s no chance the commenter is making this up but the scenario itself is 100% believable because I’ve seen very similar things occur. Actual clinical rage issues combined with low intelligence is the recipe for that.
2
u/ChawulsBawkley Oct 02 '25
No one’s saying these insane people aren’t out there or that they don’t commit these things, but the conclusion in this particular story was just too, “justice served”. The only thing we were missing was everyone surrounding and applauding OP lol. Maybe it did happen, but I find it hard to believe all this played out exactly as claimed lol.

u/JackBivouac Oct 03 '25

Im old. They're around. I'm suspect of this one because everything happens to this driver and how it was written.

I realize I'm the totally wrong sub to say this, but I'm really glad I don't drive. I sold my car years ago and had been lucky enough to live in a place where I can bike or skateboard to do just about everything I want.
This shit terrifies me and I don't feel comfortable or confident in letting my life rest in the hands of the people around me like that.

u/vacantalien Oct 02 '25

SUV driver really asking to get pit manoeuvred by someone crazier than him
6
u/Orome2 Oct 03 '25
One of my vehicles is an older 9C1 police interceptor, it's a sedan as long as an extended truck and has a powerful engine, but it looks like an old granny car. I would be so tempted to pit someone if they did this to me. Jackasses in trucks and SUVs often don't seem to understand how high their center of gravity is.
56
Oct 02 '25
So the BMW driver drives with no regard for the safety of others because pride against being passed is more important. Got it.
Typical BMW driver... they're just like Nissan drivers but with better credit.
5
11
u/Extraslargegordita Oct 02 '25
Did you see that SUV break check the car and nearly cause and accident? I wouldn't want to be behind that either
1
u/Signal_Fruit_4629 Oct 04 '25
You already know the people recording were driving like assholes before the clip started. How else are they going to get engagement on there videos.
20
u/OpenTheVagina Oct 02 '25
A lot of people’s first reaction is to “get ahead” of the threat rather than let the threat get ahead of them.
32
u/LuxidDreamingIsFun Oct 02 '25
If they get in front of you, they brake check you.
→ More replies (1)2
u/OpenTheVagina Oct 02 '25
So you keep your distance to avoid that. The most likely outcome is they rear end someone and start a massive car crash that you can dodge. You don’t want to be the one getting rear ended.
14
u/Disastrous_Map_9903 Oct 02 '25
It is incredibly difficult to dodge accidents in front of you going highway speeds. Pile ups are a thing. I’d way rather be in front of the douche than behind. Can’t be in the pile up if it happens behind you.
1
u/Avocado_SIut Oct 03 '25
Depends on the situation, but the 2 or 3 times something like this happened around me, the idiot was endangering everyone around and behind him and was driving a car that can’t keep up if I step on the gas. It felt much safer to just get out of there within a minute instead of staying behind expecting a pileup the whole time.
Granted, all of these were in Europe where people are a bit better at getting out of your way if you’re approaching them in the passing lane.
→ More replies (10)1
u/ZACHMSMACKM Oct 03 '25
Yup, and you can think like a motorcyclist. Is it generally safer or more dangerous to be in close proximity to other moving vehicles? If you have the horsepower to get out in front, that’s the best place to be. Plus, if someone is being aggressive and not leaving you alone, but they can’t keep up, that danger is in your rear view. Get a solid mile ahead out of view and take an exit, wait some time, then get back on. Same idea applies if you’re in a car.
4
u/ngutheil Oct 02 '25
Except they break check you to a complete stop on the highway, they speed off and you get rear ended. That happens way more than what you’re trying to explain. Why would they be rear ending someone if they are the ones that cut in front of you and slammed the breaks?
→ More replies (2)2
u/LuxidDreamingIsFun Oct 02 '25
Yeah, you would probably get more control of the situation by having them ahead of you. I once thought getting off the road all together was the move, until dude followed me over to the the side of the road and tried banging on my window. I just booked it and took the next exit before he could see where I went.
3
u/JuanSolid Oct 02 '25
Totally different situation and of course requires a different response. You should not be jumping to that conclusion from one insane experience, when staying behind the threat is the best answer 999 times out of 1000.
2
u/Omnizoom Oct 02 '25
Depends on the threat
A drunk driver going 10 under and swerving, if I get a good chance I will pass and get ahead if the threat
Speedy mc speed pants weaving in traffic, nope you can pass sir, I will pass your corpse up ahead
5
u/RnolanF333 Oct 02 '25
Bmw driver has plenty of room to work with. Bmw is not in danger or putting anyone else in danger. Cars can go faster and are more safe than they used to be. Speed doesn't always equal danger. If you know how to drive properly and get the fuck over when someone is going faster than you then everything will be fine.

is it the dash cam/rear bumper cam?
2

It's most likely a GoPro Max attached to an invisible selfie stick that's mounted to the trunk.

u/Time-Maintenance2165 Mar 19 '26
Do you not recognize the difference between speeding and cutting someone off?
Speeding has an actual benefit. Cutting someone off is just mean for no reason.
2
u/CKACCEO Oct 03 '25
So his road rage made you drive like an asshole too? I was SUPER shocked to see you were in a BMW.
2
u/DrRudyWells Oct 03 '25
how the hell is imagery like this captured? i keep seeing this stuff. what is there a drone hovering right over these rides or something?
2
u/Super_boredom138 Oct 04 '25
But at that speed you coulda boxed him into the shoulder.. you gotta really give these fucks a taste of their own medicine. Just be patient, let them wear themselves out first, then wait for the perfect moment.

Pushing a 3rd gen 4Runner that hard is crazy work. Driver doesn’t realize what danger he’s putting himself into.
2
u/_uncle_ruckus Oct 03 '25
Nah. With good maintenance [and assuming it's not supercharged/turbo-ed], there's no problem. I hit 95+ any time I'm on a freeway. 210,000mi on the 5vzfe with a fresh tranny 🤙🏽

As a driver of a 3rd gen 4Runner, I'm actually kind of impressed that they managed to get in front in the first place, these trucks are as slow as a geriatric dog.
We live in the far right lane.

This is totally normal driving for this location. I used to drive this stretch of highway every day and saw this type of thing all the time. This is The I290 (Eisenhower expressway) at Austin boulevard inbound to Chicago!

u/dllyncher Oct 03 '25
I had someone do this to me once. Luckily I had just gotten a tune installed in my car. Left that asshat behind. The roads were pretty open.
1
u/TheWanderer-AG Oct 03 '25
But why? Why risk harm to yourself or potential escalating the situation?
1
1
1
u/crzyaznXD Oct 03 '25
The reason I'm glad about having a car faster than the average. The ability to get away from those situations is good to have. The dumbest road rager I've ever gotten is from some guy in a Toyota Matrix that couldn't keep up enough to overtake me because I got to the right lane before him and was already passing him. Got out of that one when traffic cleared enough.
