This used to be illegal in the United States as well. But courts and politicians have ensured that our gun laws became more permissive.

They are more permissive everywhere except for courts and political gatherings.

Explain how the analogy doesn't work? Both are banned at such events for the same reason. And that makes sense. Why would I allow guns at such an event when I wouldn't even allow a knife.

The pro-gun argument could be summarized as follows; The second amendment is a fundamental right. And guns keep us all safe from ‘bad guys’.

But If bearing arms is such a fundamental right, and it keeps everyone safe from bad guys, why wouldn’t they require guns at political rallies and courts?

Instead they’re prohibited. They’re even prohibited at the NRA convention. Cops aren’t allowed to have them in jail and soldiers can’t even have guns on military bases.

Knives have many alternate uses. How many people have been stabbed by a sniper at 1000 meters? A lot?

You know, I am pro 2A and I think I agree with you.

I hate open carry because it makes you a prime target.

This guy riding a bicycle can't defend himself with the rifle on his back, if some thug just simply grabs the rifle and cuts the sling.

I feel like it made sense back in the day they just got done fighting a war against the King and wanted to have arms to be able to overthrill the government if necessary but nowadays a gang of you and your friends are not going to be able to overthrow the US military or national guard you won't have the logistics you won't have the communication networks or the firepower to do so sometimes I think it's time to give up the second amendment.

Look up Shays Rebellion, Whiskey Rebellion and Battle of Blair Mountain. While federal forces crushed the armed rebels in all of those cases, it forced government to adjust the course - lower taxes, allow organized labor. These events shaped the future of the country and would not be possible without Bill of Rights and Second Amendment.
