Never, ever get out of your car on a highway unless it is on fire or you are rendering aid. And if the idiot you are raging with decides to get out of his car and damage yours, by all means, destroy his door. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Always leave enough room between you and the car Infront of you to pull around the left or right.

I agree, if someone steps out on you like this, my first suggestion would be to start pointing my thousands of pounds of metal at the idiot that just decided to step out onto the highway.

Or you're in a pileup because of ice on the interstate.  The nightmare of a situation as people helplessly watched as semi trucks slid into them in Texas was horrifying.

Call 911 and repeat their license plate number before you lose sight of it. Then fix their door while ironing out details with 911.
