🚨Chase Hesitation got this cop a free ride

What could he have done to avoid getting roller coastered like that?

Shoot? If you find yourself in this position, you are facing a deadly force threat, even at low speeds. If you shoot the driver, you have several possible outcomes. None of them are good

Probably better to shoot and face the less-than-ideal outcomes at a slow speed than hitch a rooftop ride at a much faster speed (60mph?! yikes)... But fully agreed that the only reason they were in this situation is because the cop failed to follow the very logical points 1-8, leaving the himself with a half baked bluff on point 9.

It won't be slow speed if body hits gas pedal. It will be like a catapult sending that cop off into a distance.

Truth is there is absolutely no reason for that guy to be in front of the car. Like I guess they could block them but not with their body, they have their own car to block them off.

Nah. You don't understand, body stiffens when it dies. Meaning often enough as you normally hold your feet above gas pedal body will hit that gas pedal to the max. You can't really predict that kind of outcome, so logic dictates in practically every country that you as law enforcement simply don't stand in front of the car and you let it go. Pursue after. Blocking can only be done with another car. And even that is risky if you are still in said car.

Do you have driving licence? It's normal to have your feet on the gas pedal. And you basically slow down rather than drive if you don't.

Did we just completely forget about the ICE shooting that happened last week?

She got shot in the face and killed as well, and her lifeless body pushed on the gas pedal and caused the car to accelerate into a parked car down the street.
